Cozy cabin in the Western part of the PA Wilds & the Allegheny Nat'l Forest
10/10 Excellent
"The cabin was beautiful and super convenient. It was chilly that weekend and the woodburner heat was comfortable. It was the kind of place to enjoy a few days without distraction. I look forward to staying again."
Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Franklin-Oil City by IHG
8/10 Good
"Staff was great, room was clean, AC unit works perfect. I only have small complaints. After this trip I realized I dont want a room that is across the hall from the indoor pool or close to the elevators/main lobby. It is very noisy and the door has a decent sized gap under it allowing for voices and noise to be heard easily. The gap around the black out curtains does not keep outage lights in the parking lot at night so your room won't be completely dark. The toilet is very low to the ground for tall people (just my two cents). My one recommendation is to have a plain egg omelet available for breakfast. Our choices were omelet with veggies or cheese. My daughter doesn't eat those veggies and she is lactose intolerant."
"The staff was very friendly and helpful. We chose this property because it was the only traditional hotel within walking distance of an event we were attending (Franklin Blues and BBQ Festival) so the rates were probably higher than normal. Our biggest complaint was the free hot breakfast. All 3 mornings were the same. Tasteless sausage patties and scrambled eggs. A handful of high carb offerings. Weak coffee and rock hard butter. The problem with Franklin is there are no restaurants "downtown" open for breakfast. It was a bit of a drive for a chain restaurant. The town looks a bit down on it's luck. There is a good Mexican restaurant inside the hotel called Tacos Inc that was a pleasant surprise. The staff at the hotel were outstanding and the room was clean and had a good amenities. The parking was free and there was plenty. All and all a good place except for the breakfast thing which wouldn't have mattered much if the town itself had something to offer."
Lakefront Farmhouse with 2 acres to enjoy - Fish, Kayak, or launch your boat!
10/10 Excellent
"We had a wonderful week in this home! It was very clean, comfortable, and well-stocked. The hosts were very responsive to our needs and were truly dedicated to ensuring we had a relaxing and comfortable stay! The lake is gorgeous, and everyone enjoyed swimming, floating, and canoeing in it. Sitting out on the front porch and enjoying the view is delightful. The tree swing was a big hit with the kids and young adults in our traveling party. This home is perfect for staying in and enjoying the lake or going out and exploring the region. I highly recommend this property for family vacations or groups that want to enjoy all that the area has to offer! We had an absolute blast!Bonus: Super comfortable beds!"
"This was our second stay at Hogback. It is a perfect spot for families with young kids. The house is clean and well appointed. We enjoy exploring the area and having a headquarters to return to each evening. We’ll be back next summer."

"A friend and I needed a quiet getaway and this place was perfect for it. We originally planned to continue hiking some local trails, but were honestly grateful for the unpredictable stormy weather that gave us a great excuse to stay in and enjoy the cottage. We played Sorry!, cooked a few meals, watched a little Netflix and just caught up. Beautiful view, quiet neighborhood and more space than needed- we didn’t need the bunkhouse with just two of us. The A/C units were needed and appreciated and they had everything we needed in the kitchen. We also really liked the signs and pictures that decorated the cottage. If we stayed longer we probably would have enjoyed making a fire or using the grill, but were content with the stove and microwave, lol We even did a load of laundry, which was great with this late spring heat this week! Thank you for a lovely stay at a great price- I’ve already recommended it to family. Also, I had a couple questions during the stay and Amr was quick to respond- much appreciated. Thanks again!"
