About this property

Charming Apt above Bookshop in Historic Tiverton Four Corners Village Center!

  • Escape to this lovely apartment in picturesque Tiverton Four Corners. This apartment is on the second floor of a historic 1840 building located right in the center of the village, the first floor houses an independent bookstore called The Yellow House. We also have a newly opened cafe/bar located within the bookshop. The shop/bar is open from 11am-8pm Wed - Saturday and 11-4pm Sunday. We are open 7 days a week during the summer months (June - September).

    The second floor is your private apartment - this cozy space features 1 bedroom with a comfortable queen bed, a full bathroom, and convenient amenities like laundry, WiFi, a large kitchen, and AC/heat. Check out our independent bookstore on the first floor and enjoy the big backyard! It is a perfect place to start a farm coast adventure - you are right in the center of the village so you can stroll to the cafe, restaurant, and shops and still walk or bike to the local beaches and forests!

    We are happy to offer guests 10% off one new book in the bookshop and one complimentary drink in our downstairs Corner Bar during your stay!

    During shop hours we will have customers and ask that guests are respectful with their noise and use of the space. Please expect a low level of background noise during daytime/early evening hours.

    Please review photos carefully - there is a steep, narrow historic staircase to get to the second floor apartment entrance. It is not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. Please contact us with any questions ahead of booking.

Clean. Great location and everything you could need to be comfortable. The stairs could be an issue as they are narrow and steep. The host did refer with a photo which looked doable. However, they were a challenge when bringing luggage up. Otherwise a 5star.

This historic property is delightful in every way. The apartment itself is in pristine condition, has artistic touches and a minimalist feel. I especially liked the gleaming, wide board pine floors and many windows. The bed and other furnishings are very comfortable. The owners are close by, kind and full of helpful tips. The bookstore downstairs was an initial attraction and is truly a treat for the serious reader. Both a cafe and grille are right across the street. We stayed two nights for a wedding in Middletown (near Newport). The easy 23 minute drive over and back was worth the extra travel time over a property closer to the wedding venue as this space is very special.
