Loved the Airstream!
We enjoyed our time at McKenzie Beach Resort & thought they did a great job renovating the Airstream that we stayed in! The only thing missing was a table. We had the bench covered with our things which didn't allow for a good space to have a meal. The bathroom was better than expected with a nice shower. Since there wasn't a table inside it would have been nice to have one outside by the firepit that we couldn't use because of a burn ban. 🙁 The beach was fabulous & not far of a walk. The nightly music was great but we would have enjoyed it more without the $5 cover charge. We felt that if we bought dinner that there shouldn't have been a charge. The area by the Airstreams & Suites was very dusty. A little grass would have been nice. The sunsets were amazing!!! 🌅

Right next to the beach is the big draw and the cabins were upgrded and comfortable. Staff is A1. We got locked out when the keys wouldn't work but it was cheerfully fixed by staff, even though it wa after hours.

The resort has done a very good job in re-appointing the cabins - new furniture, lights, mattress, etc. Just beware the 3-legged living room table - very tippy (as shown by 1 broken wine glass - fortunately it was empty...) Good reception area c/w coffee bar, treats and games tables. A good place to sit out the rain to wait if you arrive before your cabin is ready. And only steps to the beach!

Our cabin(3) was beachfront. Awesome ocean view. The beds however were awful no one slept well, and the cleanliness of the cabin left a bit to be desired(don’t look under the bed for that dropped pen, or in the corners) The kitchen was well stocked and the pots and pans were awesome not cheap crap. Bring extra towels, as you are only given 1 set per person for a 4 day stay and when your in and out of the ocean they get yucky quick. Oh and if you want to have a fire in your cabin bring wood, matches and an axe. Overall our stay was ok, but we will probably try somewhere else next time.

Cons: The bed was terrible and mattress should be replaced. The shower was mist, both in the head and the hand shower, so that kinda sucked. Didn't know we couldn't have a little fire directly on the beach, so bylaw officer shut us down. :-( Fires need to be in the iron rims, of which there is only one in front of Mack Beach Resort. Stairs down to the beach area really should be redone (they are uneven in height and a little dangerous for old folks.) Pros: great helpful staff, lovely beach, although not really for surfing. But that meant less people on it, so that was cool.

Poor quality room with dorm like decor. No sign directing us to the resort so we ended up at the campground. Room way too small and pricey compared to the quality of other neighing resorts at similar prices. Half the place was empty so it would be nice to be offered an upgrade even for a small price. Had to check out at 10am and wasn’t even allowed to extend that by a little bit.

Location was nice that you can see the ocean right from the cabin. But, pretty much like the camping site, once you checked in you are on your own. We had complained the noise coming from the neighbour who had a group of people playing loud music, shouting and screaming that we couldn’t sleep even with ear plug. No one had addressed our concern.

Nice Location.
We enjoyed the location but studio cabin needs some TLC and new mattresses. The staff were excellent. They addressed any concerns we brought up to them.

Rustic charm.
Short stretch of gravel road from Hwy 4 leads to resort. Friendly and helpful staff. TV was not working on arrival in room, but was fixed within 20 mins by manager. As there is no AC, it got a little warm so we had to leave a window open while in the room. I would recommend a bug screen there (we did feed a couple of mosquitoes!).

We (2 adults and child 10) stayed in airstream 1001 and it was on a great sized lot. No shade so bring a pop up shelter. If more than 2 people staying in there make sure to bring additional outdoor seating and there was no picnic table on site. The airstream was clean, cozy and had the basics however the Bluetooth speaker was dull so bring your own. Staff was helpful and great. Beach on site was magical. Definitely priced on the higher side but all in all it was a blast!

It goes without saying that the view is amazing. Our cabin was clean put outdated. The coaches are worn out,trim board in the bathroom covered with mold. I would suggest getting some blinds or curtains that fit the windows,no privacy.In the bedrooms you need to get some small night tables with lights ,we used boxes. Other then that we enjoyed our family gathering.

People looking in our window while we we inside.(like putting there hands on our window and looking in). For the price we paid. Not coming back. Sorry. I never do this. The staff were very nice. Unfortunately our airstream leaked all night.....both of them, so it was like sleeping in a swimming pool, except we didn’t sleep and mostly just swam. It was nothing like the pictures, they were old and moldy and not well maintained, the concept of them was wonderful but clearly they are not meant to be in the Tofino weather. The price we paid for this was outrageous.

Room was very small. No key provided so we didn't feel comfortable leaving the room as couldn't lock the door. The Resort was high vacancy and there were much larger units but we weren't able to negotiate for an upgrade because no staff on site.

Great value spot right on the beach
Amazing location. The beach was literally just on the other side of our sliding glass door. Cozy and with great personal care products. All we needed and more.

There is a serious need for this resort to be renovated. The cabins are beautifully set at the beach but the windows are not updated and leak marine air profusely. The fireplace glass was cracked so may have posed a safety concern. The coffee maker leaked and coffee was not available. High prices for a moderate accommodation.

It was a glorious trip to the Pacific Rom. The resort staff were so accommodating. The view from our cabin was perfect for storm watching and the wood stove created a warm and cozy environment to cuddle up and read a book when we were not walking the dogs on the beach

Cozy cabin on the beach
The accommodations are simple but the room was clean and bed was super comfy. The location is amazing right on Mackenzie beach. We like to stay here because of the location and the proximity to Tofino.

Major improvement required for future guests.
It’s very unfortunate. We could see they tried. The location from the town is excellent. The main bed was comfortable. The Heater gave warmth. The nice wooden counter top. However, the counter top in front of the heater was too hot to place things even in the medium setting. The bathroom door never closed. On top of that, condensations created many problems. Drips from the sky lights, wet floor on the bathroom, and black mould on the walls. Additionally, it’s a wrong showerhead for the position, and shower floor wasn’t leveled properly that water spills over. The price is too high for bearing the conditions. We hope they improve the things listed above, so that other customers can enjoy the stay for the future.

Three nights in a snowy beach paradise
Basic cabins in an amazing area. We had a one bedroom cabin for 3 nights. The cabins are within a 2 minute walk to a beautiful beach. Step out side for wonderful beach walks then again for sunset. The cabins are very clean and the staff are friendly.

The view of the beach, and it proximity are wonderful. However, visiting in November, they did not turn the heat on in our unit, and it was freezing. Even with the heat cranked, it took all night to be somewhat a comfortable temperature. The roads leading to and around the resort are rugged, as always. They have removed the pool house and hot tub, which greatly detracts from amenities they offer. Its a decent place, but there are definitely other places with similar rates and more to offer. Also, bring eyepads for sleeping unless you can sleep with lots of light in the room.
