  • #Shinjuku #Tokyo #Japan #alley The famous piss alley or Omoide Yokocho in Shinjuku, Tokyo. By day it's just another narrow alleyway common in Tokyo, but at night the street turns into a mini nightlife area for the salarymen of Tokyo. With numerous tiny #bar lining up, the nickname comes from the fact in the past so many drunk salarymen doing their "bussiness" there because there's no toilet anywhere in this alleyway. Today, regulation has been set in the area so it is a lot cleaner than before. The alleyway is very narrow and can only fit at maximum 2 people at a time so be mindful of your surrounding when visiting especially when there's many drunk people walking by from the bars. The bars are also very tiny and can only fit less than 10 people at a time. If you are not claustrophobic give them a try, it's a special experience on its own :)

Our check in process was unpleasant. The room key was not in the mail box as expected. We had to wait to hear back from the host to see how to proceed. Key was left in the lock box inside the locked court yard. A Neighbour let us in but then we had difficulty opening the door. The door had two locks on it and again this was not in the directions. The space is ultra small and sparse. Wi-Fi slow We chose not to stay our second night.
