"This resort has potential but is in serious need of maintenance and upkeep.
Pros:
Room offered direct water access - not the beach but the canals in the neighborhood
Quiet - it's very low key and peaceful
Walkable restaurant and beach access - decent food nearby and basic beach access across the main road
Cons:
Really in disrepair - bathtub/showers/kitchen stained and facets all falling off in your hands
Very inconsistent/incomplete room cleanup - they take the towels and don't replace them or only leave one. Hair and dirt everywhere on floors and counters in bathroom after a week.
Considering the very lacking attention to room maintenance, we found it comical that the staff were literally standing in the doorway at checkout while we were trying to move our bags out and do the last check.
Terrible/broken "queen" bed which was really a very broken pullout bed (see picture)
Conclusion: This place has friendly front desk staff and has a nice, quiet atmosphere, but is really subpar for the price when compared to other options on this island."
"Water tastes horrible. To buy one water is 16$. For a small Dasani from bar is 7$.
They say they provide water bottles with fill up stations and they’re nowhere to be found. When you ask for help the look at you like you’re stupid.
Very rude.
Very expensive.
They charge you for housekeeping to come in even if you deny the service.
Resort fees are mandatory but not disclosed at check in.
Most amenities are either broken or in non working order. Everything closes at 5 pm besides the casino."
"These pleasant, self-contained units are ideal for a short stay when you need to be near the airport - literally 5 minutes away. The air con was very good full-size fridge freezer was a huge bonus. The taps in our unit were fitted the wrong way around!
Check in was quick and easy with the friendly host.
The bar/restaurant didn't seem to be open while we were there and there was no indication of when it would be. The pool needed cleaning but we were only there for 2 nights so it didn't affect us.
Reasonably priced for the island, which is generally expensive! "
Blue Birds Beach House, paradise break right on the beach with a heated pool
10/10 Excellent
"The Blue Bird Beach House was everything we expected and more!!!! We didn't lack for anything. The amenities were great! We could talk about how the house is fully stocked with everything you need but you can read that in all the other reviews. What we can tell you is that from the moment you wake up in the morning until you lay your head down at night you are in paradise. The calm quiet beach, the view and sound of the ocean, the pool, the outdoor bar, the privacy of the beach... we could go on and on. It was perfect!!! We brought our three adult children and their significant others for a family vacation and it didn't disappoint. Rosalie and Robbie are incredible hosts. Very responsive. They truly want you to feel at home and enjoy your vacation. We rented a mini van so we could explore the island if we wanted to, but every time we left the beach house we couldn't wait to return!!! We used the grocery service so that we would have food and drinks upon arrival, but we ventured to the food and liquor stores as needed. The time spent with our children and the memories made are exactly why we chose Blue Bird Beach House. You won't be disappointed!!"
"television control was ridiculously complicated. could not just turn on and off.
bed sheets were not full cotton, hot and sticky
bathroom faucet sprayed all over.
breakfast option meager and prohibitively expensive.
i will not recommend or return"
