"Beautifully updated but the floor space in the room with two queen beds very limited. Designed where space went to the bathroom. Beds pretty much up against the wall. So if you’re sharing a bed be ready to fit through narrow space between the bed and wall or crawl over the person you’re in bed with."

"Rooms are spacious with little kitchen which I found super helpful since there’s no breakfast or restaurant on site, only a small convenience market. The hotel is old, but they have made some renovations and it’s generally very pleasant. Good amenities, but the pool and hot tub are a little sad. Staff is very friendly and helpful. It’s a solid, no frills place."

"From the map when looking for properties, this looked to be between the highway and lake. I was disappointed it was across the highway, but that didn’t affect it as bad as I thought it would. Room was able to see nice view of lake from the balcony. Hot tub was very nice and pool was kept warm enough in October to swim comfortably. Free use of bicycles was a nice touch we used a couple of times. Hotel is connected to two restaurants and a bowling alley. They offer 15% discounts at them but we did have a chance to use any of them. The restaurants are well rated in Yelp. Staff was very pleasant."

"I hadn't stayed at a Holiday Inn Express in many years, because their quality had declined considerably. We were pleasantly surprised at how clean and well maintained this property was. The staff was also exceptional."

"This is one of my favorite places to go! The grounds are so beautiful any season. The staff is so professional, extremely friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately, we learned that the company sold to another company and only gave the staff 2 weeks notice that they would no longer be able to stay open. The restaurant was closed which was dissapointing as the food was so fabulous. I hope they reopen with the same feel as Desolation Hotel."
