"We were pleasantly surprised by the Bryson City Microtel. We were just coming in for one night and there were limited selections of quality hotels in the area. Being part of a larger chain, we thought it would be a reasonable choice. Much to our surprise, our room was as nice as much higher priced hotels in larger cities. The amenities were spare and the included breakfast was, well we went to a restaurant for breakfast instead of a limited choice of two cold cereals, small out-of-a bag bagels and marginal juice and coffee selections. However, In Bryson City, NC, for the price, it was a good choice."

"The hotel is in a newer building, so everything was clean and well-maintained. However, the service was disappointing, especially at check-in and the food court. Check-in took about 40 minutes, which was frustrating. The Starbucks experience was even more confusing. We were waiting in line for our morning coffee when the employees suddenly left for a break in the middle of serving customers. This caused a long delay, and I couldn't understand why they would all take a break while customers were still waiting. Aside from the poor service from certain staff members, the hotel itself was nice and in good condition. It's a shame that the service didn't match the quality of the facilities."

"Hotel was noticeably old and there was a lot of active construction items laying around. Lots of junk items laying around. Under the awning there was an old drink machine laid on its side being used as a catch all for empty cans and other trash. At one time I told the room attendant that we did t need total room service but if we could just get two towels and would Be good. She told me that ALL the towel were used up and she didn’t have any more to get me any. I must say this upset me that “there were NO MORE TOWELS at the property”? So I told her to go to one of the empty rooms and get me two, which she did. Other than that it was a place for me to sleep out of the rain."

"For Tail of the Dragon visitors this is the place to stay. Fuel at entrance, food, gift store, parking for truck and trailer. Pool closes early in the season. TV system they have is terrible- never got it working once- in days! NO cell service Zip! Must use resort Wi-Fi only. Staff is Fantastic!!!"
