The property manager Sonia was brilliant. She made contact with us ensuring we knew about hours and our accommodation. We had no car, and were able to leave our bags until our room was available due to our early arrival and was equally accommodating on having to leave. Our unit was within walking distance to many things - Castle Hill, Magnetic Island Ferry, museums and restaurants.

Nice apartment and great little pool on the roof which was suitable for young kids. Everything felt clean and modern. Parking was a bit of a faff as we had to drive to the top of a parking lot, go down to another level, cross a bridge then go back up again. Could have done with some extra basic things like toilet roll and dish washing liquid.

The property is a little tired, but if you have the view of the water it more than makes up for it …stunning! Everything was fine including a comfortable bed and a shower with good hot water pressure. The pool and associated area is also great with the mountain looming over you :)

We stayed on the 18th floor and the apartment was excellent. Staff were also really good to help with anything we needed. The only comment I will have is that not all apartments are the same. This one was the best by far and I stayed in 3 in the same unit block now.

Modern apartment with spectacular views

Loved our 3 night stay in a spacious 1 bedroom apartment that was nicely furnished with a full, well-appointed kitchen, separate laundry, study nook and spacious balcony. The views over the Strand and Maggie Island were gorgeous from this 16th floor balcony. It is a very bright apartment early in the morning so if that will wake you early, take an eye mask. Also, no wifi details provided but after-hours check-in was easy. Quiet and safe yet just around the corner from the Cowboys Leagues Club and other bars and pubs. Will stay again.

A nice location in a convenient area close to the CBD and Strand. However the bedrooms had a bad smell. There was also no wifi which should be standard these days. We stayed for 2 weeks which fell on the Easter public holidays and there was no service for 10 days, which meant we had to wash our own towels and bed linen and also buy our own supplies like toilet paper, bin bags, dishwashing and laundry detergent because not one had come to replenish them, which is totally unacceptable considering the place was not cheap. All staff seemed nice and tried to help except for one lady who got super defensive and arrogant when asked about the service intervals. This is a good property in a good location with lots of potential. However due to zero management and the tight owners this place will never improve.

The apartment itself was great but we didnt see a single staff member the whole stay. So if we had had any questions, there was no one to ask. Instructions for checkin and checkout as well as access to our room were not very clear. There were also no spare pillows or blankets. However, the apartment itself was extremely clean and great size, the parking was very secure and the building felt very safe.

The customer service at the Dalgety is excellent. Clint went out of his way on more than one occasion to assist me - he’s wonderful! The pool is beautiful with great views and my apartment was huge. Some of the kitchen utensils could do with updating (split chopping board etc) and furniture has a bit of wear and tear. A fantastic location if you are working in Townsville CBD and only a short walk to the local Woollies for groceries. Thank you to Clint and the team.
