"I booked this hotel by chance, and the setting is absolutely beautiful. A large river flows right alongside the hotel, with a pathway leading down to the riverbank. You can go fishing and river rafting here, making it an ideal spot for a family vacation."
"A hidden gem! It’s now under new management and the manager was warm, friendly and very helpful. Gorgeous drive in through mountain roads. The property is small with rooms in the main house and cabin. We stayed in the cabin and it had a clawfoot bathtub and private deck! You can walk to the nearby river and there are lots of places to sit and read, meditate, etc. The menu is all vegetarian/vegan and they served us in our room. Yummy veggie curry and “chik’n” burger! There’s also complimentary continental breakfast (toast, croissants, fresh fruit, yogurt). This was a wonderful relaxing place and I wish I’d booked more than 1 night. Lots of nearby hikes like the Trail of 100 Giants. Oh we also came in a Tesla and while they don’t have on-site charging, I can report that the drive is doable from the McFarland Supercharger (at 100%) and back."

"This was a bad experience. My sisters and I were very excited about staying in this remote cabin but due to the state of the extremely steep, pitted, uneven gravel driveway to the rental, our car (with new tires) skidded and then stopped on three wheels as we climbed it and stopped perched precariously over the edge. Thankfully we didnt flip over but crawled out and walked to the nearest town to get on VRBO and advise the owner that we could not even reach our rental due to the poor condition of the driveway, which they never mentioned needing at least a four-wheel drive vehicle to climb in any of their rental information. The owner did not even respond until the next day and it took all day and two wreckers to pull the car back to the main road. At nightfall we went back down the mountain to a hotel an hour away which we had to pay for again. All the owner would refund was 50 percent for a rental we never even saw. VRBO did little to assist, unlike they say in their TV commercials that say they will always make things right if there are problems with a rental."
"Check in was horrible. Two of us had to go back into town, download WhatsApp just to leave a voice message and text to say we were here for the lady to be in her camper. Kind of silly to provide the instructions via text when there’s no cell service there. Outside of that, exactly what I expected. Limited light, bathroom house and shower house, river. Need to take an extra blanket though. Got chilly at night. "
"My family and I had one of the best family vacations that we’ve had in a long time and this cabin and location made the difference. It was beautiful, cozy, room enough to spread out, easy access to walks in nature. The kids and dog explored every morning out back by the stream they called “the swamp”, walked on logs, played in snow patches, searched for the best walking sticks. We drove anywhere from 10-40min to local hikes and were amazed at the sights - 5th biggest tree in the world, huge waterfall, beautiful meadows, magnificent groves of trees. Then we came home to well stocked kitchen and cooked and warmed the cabin with the wood burning stove and did a puzzle and played games until bedtime. The beds were cozy, the tubs had jacuzzi jets, and laundry was easy to do when needed. We would definitely come back! Maybe even next year."
