"When I take the night train to Trang I always stay at Thumrin because it is big enough to always have a room available for early check-in. Decor and furnishings a little long in the tooth but who cares at this price. Corner rooms have nice view but all the windows can challenge the air-con."

There is no elevator but I was so impressed with how the very kind staff carried my bags upstairs and helped me figure out how to order food from a local restaurant. "The front desk staff were lovely. Compared to the last two hotels I stayed at, the receptionists greeted us with smiles. The hotel itself is old and the rooms are basic. I could not get the television to work but the air conditioner worked well. The bathroom had a lot of chrome which was discoloured but it was spacious and clean enough. The room had a window which let in a nice breeze so we didn’t always even need the air conditioner. The value for money was very good!"

"You can't get a better stay for the price point. About 400M from the train station, this "hostel" is definitely more like a homestay than anything else. Run by a lovely family, the property is well maintained and super clean and surprisingly well beyond what you would get for this price normally. I stayed in Room 7 which is best as it had a private bathroom/shower. I would not only recommend this place, I'll stay here next time I'm in Trang."
