Peninsula Living: Grab the kayaks and venture to the private boat launch/swim area to take in all Long Lake has to offer a short distance away. The kayaks can be walked down with supplied carts, but the kayaks also stack easily for transport in any truck or SUV, and most hatch backs. There is limited parking (room for 3 cars) at the launch. Enjoy swimming in the sandy bottom crystal clear lake. Wade right in with zero entry access. Kayak over to the nearby islands to camp or swim out to the swim platform and relax in the sun, or just sit on the dock and enjoy the lake breeze or take in the sunset. We’ve left beach chairs, floats, sand and water toys so that you can get right to enjoying the lake without running to the store. Additionally, there are two public beaches on the other side of the lake. There are 3 very capable adult/teen sized bikes for exploring the peninsula and surrounding areas.
Just a stone’s throw away, enjoy Robert Doerr park! The perfect place for just about anyone, the park features volleyball, basketball, a baseball diamond, a substantial play structure for little ones, 3 hole disc golf, and tether ball. While the park is a very short walk away, there is off road parking.

My family of 5 had a great stay! No complaints- very family friendly and clean. Great location- 30 minutes from Crystal mountain and 10-15 min from downtown Traverse City.
The home was spotless, beautifully decorated, and had everything we needed. The location was peaceful yet close to local attractions in Traverse City. Highly recommend this house for a relaxing getaway!
Jenn was an incredible host — from the spare room, to the blankets, towels, laundry room, and kitchen — the house was very dialed in. We really enjoyed the peninsula (community dock area) and the community on our daily walks.
Our family of four had an amazing time staying at this cottage near Traverse City. It was clean, and very well appointed. It had everything we needed for a long weekend. Great location as well. Excellent place to stay if you need a family getaway.
Great house for a family. The layout makes it easy enough to find a quiet place for kids’ naps or early bedtimes. Clean. A ten-minute walk to water access for swimming and a boat launch. We had a wonderful stay and hope to stay again!
Our family really enjoyed our stay at this wonderful cottage nestled just outside of Traverse City. Very clean and comfortable for our family of four! We took day trips to several nearby beaches such as Empire, Frankfort, Sleeping Bear Dunes and Glen Arbor. All were about a 30 minute drive from the cottage. Coffee on the deck in the mornings was really nice and this cottage offered us all of the amenities we were looking for. Would highly recommend!
This property was beautiful! It was a quiet area with nature all around! We were in town for a wedding weekend and these accommodations were perfect for our family ranging in ages from 11-70. Check in was easy, directions were spot on and Jenn (owner) was easy to connect with for anything we needed.
I appreciated all the extras that aren’t typically supplied including enough toilet paper/ paper towels for our stay, toiletries ( even little details like q-tips and floss picks)! There were plenty of games and we especially loved walking to the neighborhood park for a little basketball and volleyball. We didn’t get to enjoy lake activities, but Jenn provided everything we would have needed.
The outdoor space on property has many options for sitting and enjoying being outside!
I highly recommend staying here!
Our family had a wonderful time visiting this home in northern Michigan. We were able to check out the dunes, kayak the Platte River and check out some awesome restaurants in TC, Glen Arbor and the surrounding areas during our stay. Our host was wonderful. The local recommendations were great and the property was clean and included everything we needed. The storage shed with beach chairs, beach toys, bikes and the kayaks were an added bonus!
OMG THIS PLACE WAS THE CUTEST! The Wilderness Camp decor vibes were on point and the house had absolutely everything you would need for a perfect stay. The property owner was great and very easy to get a hold of! The location was perfect - safe and close to town! We slept great and woke up rested each morning! What a perfect home for a family vacation! Thank you so much for everything!
Nice home in a good location for exploring all the TC area has to offer. Condition of the home was clean and nice. The floor plan is a little funky depending on how many people are staying in the home. It was nice to have bikes to ride around the neighborhood. Overall a good option!
