Design oriented. There are steps on the floor and bathroom floor was slippery. There was a welcome sweet but I was not sure where I could leave the empty small plate. I felt that I have to wash it? And coffee tasted old. I couldn’t sleep well because of constant noise from boiler or something. Room deco was okey but it’s rather strange as the bed was faced to the hallway where people come and go. I couldn’t relax as I could hear someone behind the door. I didn’t book dinner. Tuswano is lovely but only few restaurants available. I went to sushi restaurant just outside of the hotel. This restaurant was quite good and I enjoyed.
Breakfast was too salty and not that impressive.
The stuff at check-in was so courteous. Our room was spotless. I had asked previously if they had any baby amenities and they had said no. Which was totally fine. But when we got into the room, there was a baby trashcan for diapers and a baby bath! It definitely made our stay easier and more enjoyable.
It's an awesome property. My wife and I bring visiting family when they come to see us, we always stay at this hotel and enjoy this beautiful little town.
This hotel is a bit strange. It's not a typical country inn or ryokan (you register using a QR code sent by email). I get a Western style bed on carpeted floor rather than futon on tatami.
But nobody understands English. They have a restaurant, but couldn't understand that I wanted supper or explain why I couldn't have the supper they were serving to other guests. (I had to look for another place to eat.)
For breakfast, I went into one serving room with tables and chairs neatly set out, and the staff waved frantically for me to go away. Finally one of them took me across the hall to where breakfast was set out and waiting for me. They seemed to think I was slightly deranged to mistake one dining room for another.
The server politely brought me a cup of tea, but when I asked for coffee, she indicated that I had to go to the front desk of the hotel to get it, which I did. It didn't seem to occur to her that getting coffee for guests might be part of her job.
