El Pez was amazing! The staff made us feel so welcome and where do I begin on the food! The rooms had the most beautiful views and the staff were so attentive and polite. I will definitely be coming back to El Pez for my future visits to Tulum!

El Pez Hotel is one of the best hotel in Tulum. It’s small, but it’s very welcoming hotel. Staff are very friendly. There hospitality is above and beyond. Property is right in front of the beach. All room has ocean views. There restaurant is good. The most important is that there price is reasonable. My wife is pregnant and they gave us special gift from hotel which made us emotional. They are so much caring.

Amazing hotel with super comfy rooms!!!
Absolutely nice hotel with nice and clean rooms! The service at front desk and in the hotel is top notch. Everything was amazing about this hotel. The beach was not perfect. But you can walk 5-10 mins along the beach line and can get to a nice beach. I loved my stay here! I felt like a Queen, especially with evening surprise when they brought a night tea :))

Seaweed problems
The hotel is lovely and offering amenities that are sometimes difficult to find on the beach strip of Tulum, working hairdryers and perfect AC for example. The rooms were in impeccable condition and the staff was lovely... However, I would not recommend this hotel if a big part of your vacation is going to be swimming. The hotel is located in a little cove and therefore any seaweed floating in will be completely stuck in the cove until someone comes to remove it. The whole cove was unswimmable and stinky during my stay, seemingly without enough effort put to clean it out. I’d recommend staying further down the hotel strip where the beach is straight and has less of an issue with the seaweed. I had to go find a beach club there each day just to go swimming.

Very nice property & very clean; drinks & food we're a bit pricey but that seemed like the going rate in Tulum. The only complaint was all the seaweed that came ashore & watching the workers shovel it all day but never getting rid of the seaweed.

MUST STAY
SERVICE: Friendly, attentive and a truly sweet staff. Everyone who worked with me was so sweet and professional. ROOM: Such lovely design and the layout was so roomy and comfortable. The bed was Devine! LOCATION: Beautiful and right on the beach! RESTAURANT: Tried several dishes and all were so delicious I don’t know which I loved the most.

El Pez is exceptional. With the amazing view, the friendly staff, and the super comfortable beds. Coffee is left at your door in the morning, and herbal tea and chocolates are left in your room at night. I sat on the beach under a palapa watching the diving pelicans for hours. So peaceful. Try the spicy margarita welcome drink. So good.

Everything from start to finish was simply amazing. El Pez had quite possibly the best staff of anywhere we have ever stayed. Everyone was extremely welcoming, kind, and punctual. Room service and other requests were handled quickly and with a smile. Everyone remembered us and our room number so we always felt like we were talking to friends. We never encountered a person with a bad attitude or someone who was unfriendly. We stayed in the heart of Tulum so it was a 5-10 minute cab ride anywhere we went. We visited other hotels for lunch while we were there and always felt like we made the best decision on where to stay. El Pez is big enough that guests can spread out but not so big that there are waits for tables and service. We never waited for anything or needed a reservation. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. The menus are smaller than a traditional hotel but I liked that bc we stayed healthy and didn’t over eat. This was our first time in Tulum and El Pez did not disappoint. We will definitely come back.

Everything about El Pez was absolutely amazing! This was our first time visting Tulum and staying at El Pez was literally one of the best parts about our trip! The scenery is impeccable! They keep the beach so clean. The hotel is very intimate and quiet, perfect for a relaxing getaway. The food is GREAT! We never skipped breakfast (ORDER THE FRECH TOAST)! Coffee is at your door every morning and tea is brought to you every night. The staff is AMAZING! They are so attentive and pleasant no matter what the need or time of day! Arturo was such a major help leading up to our trip! We communicated with him regarding transportation to a from the hotel and to clear up any concerns we had prior. Upon our arrival he was just as helpful as he was before meeting. He and Ms. Denisse helped us navigate and suggested many fin ideas to add to our itinerary while we were there. She was an even bigger help to my now fiancé. ( He proposed while we were in Tulum) She was in on the proposal and I was extremely surprised once I found out she knew! I can't express how sweet she was! It was like like having family away from home! I wish we could thank everyone one last time! The staff is truly the best! Edwin, Gilbert, Orlando, Bill...EVERYONE! If you're looking to visit Tulum, please don't make the mistake of over looking this gem of a hotel. You honestly couldn't choose a better place to stay!! Thank you El Pez Team! We miss you all! <3

Can’t say enough about our stay here over Christmas with friends and family. First off, Service - this was actually one of the more affordable beach zone hotels, but compared to the other Colibri hotels we visited, the service here was better and exemplary. In particular, the front desk person Gilberto was such a star, functioning like a personal concierge during our entire stay. He catered to our every need, going above and beyond, even walking out to the street to talk to taxis for us. As a small business owner, I know good employees, and Gilberto is an MVP, but the entire staff was terrific and reflected the same attention to hospitality and detail that rivals what we experienced in fine hotels in Thailand. The hotel property is quaint, with all units facing the beach. This hotel is on a secluded stretch of the hotel zone, so you do have to walk about 10-15 minutes to get to other hotels, shopping, and restaurant, if you don’t want to pay for the pricey taxi’s in the area. Of course, there are pluses and minuses with this, but we were ok with it, and enjoyed the quiet non-party atmosphere. The beachfront is a little inlet bay and there is a beautiful sand beach, but there are alot of rocks in the water, so it doesn’t make for good swimming, but walk down the beach about 5 minutes you get to a really nice swimming beach that stretches for miles and was as good or better than Playa Paraiso. Overall great quiet hotel for families, good value, and impeccable service.

El Pez is part of the Colibri group and overall they do a good job. The hotel is right next to the water (however the beach isn’t very swimmable), Rooms are decent, food is good, and the staff is friendly. Overall good value for money

I recently occupied a Caribbean deluxe suite there for 3 days. It was an anniversary trip and me and my wife were extremely pleased staying at this hotel. Excellent staff, food, and service. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted kindly and treated attentively. Having the beach right in front of my room was just amazing. Cozy hotel with excellent service
A very cozy hotel. Our original booking was for one night and we extended it for a second evening. Beautiful ocean views and a small beach that's actually on a little bay. Even though its in the hotel zone, it is less crowded and not so trendy as other places. Restaurant has a great view. The staff was exceptional at all times. They even went out of their way to help us order delivery of food. Since we are staying in Playa del Carmen during the pandemic, it's easy for us to get back to this gem of a hotel.

Amazing!!!!!!!! Denise at the front desk went above and beyond to make sure my stay was nothing but fabulous. She assisted with dinner reservations for other places and helped planned my excursions. Even the transportation was good. The driver unfortunately i forgot his name was very professional and knowledgeable. All staff there were awesome. I really enjoyed it there. The room was clean and beautiful overlooking the sea.

El Pez Stay for Couple
El Pez was incredible from the time we stepped foot on the property. Beautiful property and incredible service that rivals many 5 star hotels in Vegas. Many English speaking employees and everyone takes Covid seriously always wearing a mask. Private beach with opportunity for massage on beach, lagoon styled pool. Comfy bed with private patio space overlooking the ocean and private beach. Daily afternoon tea and morning coffee delivered to room. Speedy wifi across the property. Good food and drinks. Good location and walking distance or short taxi ride to numerous restaurants, bars or shops. The ONLY issue we had, which the El Pez staff worked diligently in fixing and offered a comp'd meal because of the issue was we had some hot water issues in our room. But as I mentioned, they worked consistently in fixing it and provided updates, apologizing profusely about the situation. Overall, book here if available, incredible quality you get for the price. We would absolutely return to El Pez if we come back to Tulum. Thanks for everything, El Pez!

We had an amazing time at this hotel! It’s beautiful! The staff is super helpful and friendly, go above and beyond with little treats like coffee outside your door in the morning and little chocolate and tea at evening. great breakfast, very nice pool. Highly recommended
