Twain Harte

We enjoyed the house and the fenced in yard for our dog to explore. The teens loved having their own hang out space downstairs.

Hubby was sad to leave. Felt like being home away from home.

Anna was definitely a pleasure to work with! Communication was excellent and was very responsive. The house itself was very cozy and comfortable! I loved the decor, modern rustic. The layout of the house is pretty cool. Upstairs you have 1 bedroom, bathroom, family room, kitchen with a slider that leads to a good sized deck. You can sit at the table and enjoy meals outdoors or chill around the fire pit and enjoy a glass of wine while sitting on the couch or one of the rocking chairs. Downstairs leads you to another family room along with 2 additional bedrooms and bathroom. I love how one of the bedrooms has 2 queen beds in it. I called it the Ricky/Lucy room. That’s where my husband and I decided to sleep because we each had our own good sized beds in the same room. Lol In addition it has a slider that leads to the backyard which is enclosed all around which made it convenient to let the fur babies out. The backyard has a swing set for kids and a hammock if you want to take a nap outdoors or just lounge. Considering the weather was extremely hot, we didn’t make use of the hammock. The house is set with literally everything you could possibly need, from a crib and high chair for kids down to toys and water/food bowls for your fur babies. The kitchen is equipped with everything you can think of there’s even spices, coffee, sugar. Same goes for the bathrooms, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, etc.. (not the cheap generic brand inexpensive products either) When planning your trip all you really need to pack are your clothes and the food you want to cook! My husband said this trip was the very first time he’s slept good while on vacation. The beds are so comfy. We’ve stayed at different places in Twain Harte and the surrounding areas before and this place is by far the best!!!!! Can’t wait to book our next trip back up there.

Checked every box

A family and pet friendly house with two separate living rooms and a fenced-in card complete with its own sledding hill are enough reason to give this property 5 stars across the board in my opinion but there are many more reasons I would recommend this property and would happily stay there again any time. With 6 adults, 2 young kids (5 and 9) and a big dopey puppo who loves romping in the snow, there was plenty of room for all of us spread out. With our particular configuration of people we did need to create one extra bed but we knew that before arriving and it worked out fine. The house is clean and homey and updated in a way that looks nice but isn't so precious that you're afraid to use it. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen is well stocked, the internet works great, and the dog and kids had a safe and fun yard to play in plus plenty of space to be loud indoors without taking over the house. Plus there is a huge table downstairs perfect for puzzling while watching musicals on the big screen tv during a snowstorm (if that's your jam, it was definitely mine on this trip). Anna was very responsive to my phone calls and after staying in so many short-term rentals in over the years, I am soooooo appreciative of the short and totally reasonable checkout list. Some things to note: There are a lot of stairs in this house and the main living area is on the top floor, which renters should keep in mind if there are accessibility/mobility issues and/or to double check if there are baby gates available depending on the age of kids (we didn't need them so I didn't notice if they were there.) Because the kitchen is small and also so well stocked there isn't much extra cabinet storage for food so we made a makeshift pantry in the living room on the hearth (there is a cozy wood stove downstairs for fires) because we somehow managed to bring a month's worth of food between the three families. If you like a really warm room to sleep in in the winter and don't want to sleep with the door open, you may want to bring a small space heater for your bedroom since the heaters are in the main living areas. If you like a cool room with a warm blanket, you should be plenty comfortable. Whenever I stay in a vacation rental, it's always fun to think about what I might change if it was mine. After our 5 days here that list is incredibly short. Highly recommend.

Winter Retreat

My family went for a snow trip as a Christmas present. While there was no snow at the house at the time, it was just a short 30 minute trip up to Pinecrest Lake where we were able to play for the day. The house was beautifully decorated and everything was comfy and cozy for us. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out and relax. Our 8 year old was so sad to leave.

Great Stay in TH

Anna's place is very nice, with plenty of space for a family (or two). The kids had a great time playing in the yard, while the adults enjoyed cooking in the well stocked kitchen, and having a drink on the deck next to the fire pit.
