Disliked: Cleanliness, property conditions & facilities
Not good.
Sadly this hotel is in decline. I believe it is used mainly for functions as we understood that we were the first guests there in a long time. The most recent TripAdviser review was from 2014 so that should have been a red flag for us. The staff were good but the rooms "villas" were not great. The old books in the room made the rooms smell mouldy. We also spent most evenings and mornings battling mosquitoes.
Bedding consisted of not so clean sheet covering the mattress, a sheet to cover yourself (also not so clean) and a couple of pillows.
We were booked for a 4 night stay but had to leave earlier and would have left sooner had we not paid in advance.
Given that vacation time and vacations budgets are limited for most people, we are sorry that we stayed there as our time and budget could have been spent better somewhere else.
Food was not good. The pool could not be used the first day because it was filthy.
I normally would not write a bad review because I feel that some travellers are too picky and am a US expat having lived and travelled in Asia for the past 25 years, I have a very high tolerance for issues/things/challenges/discomfort/etc but thought that I needed to give future travellers my experiences and time so that they can make an informed decision.
