"The place was very small and cut up. It was dirty and had ants all in the kitchen. Every room was in some form dirty including showers and toilets. Dangerous stairs to get upstairs and down. Found slugs in basement where two bedrooms were located. Water dripped out of the ceiling onto kitchen counter. Dirty inside cabinets, drawers etc. no where near worth the amount per night. Completely unacceptable. Reached out to owner and her response was that she cleaned it when she was there. Some areas...

"We loved Four Fillies! The property was kept up very well and was so beautiful. I loved the sound of the creek. We travelled back and forth from Blacksburg which was a bit of a trek (45 minutes) but was a fairly easy drive. it was so worth it!"

"I like it. I would book again but in warmer weather for me. I enjoy the scenry, the openness and the quietness. One suggestion, maybe i overlooked it but state that cell phone connectivity is low due to area. If you have a wifi code you should include it in welcome letter as when you get there the service is very low to non existing."

"The cadin was what I expected. True to the pictures. It was very clean. I chose this place to get closer to God and that was what i got. My only suggestion to the property's owners is that the screening around the porch be fixed. It let in some yellow jackets and a couple got in the house. Would not be good if somebody staying there got stung and was allergic to them. Overall, I would go back."

"This property provides a wonderful riverside stay on the New River right on the river with easy access and easy parking right in front of the cabin efficiency. Close access to to the Whitehorne Boat Ramp for those the need a ramp as well as the scenic McCoys Falls right up Rt 625. Communication and instructions was excellent to plan our arrival and stay for the weekend.We look forward to coming back again this summer."

What made the trip so memorable was getting recommendations from the owner Amy when she came to the cabin stoking the outside heater that piped in heat to cabin. Cannot over emphasize the need to do research on places to explore while there, because this cabin is in a very rural area. Amy's recommendations on where we should visit meant everything. Quiz her on that. I encouraged her to place in the cabin a list of Must See's / Must...

"The home is lovely. The road to get to the home is a little survey and the road narrows, just an FYI. Only a few issues. With all of the fireplaces / pits, I assumed there would at least have been a starter package of fire wood. A reminder that there isn't would have been helpful due to the roads to get in and out of the location. Also the gas did not have propane, we had to run out and pay for the propane ourselves. This was after I confirmed with the host the grill was in working condition,...

"Pros: Very quiet, comfortable beds, pretty views and sounds from the creek, hospitable and helpful host - con: slight sulfur smell from the water at times (which was disclosed and harmless), but it didn’t last and we didn’t find it bothersome. All in all, this was a well equipped and nicely located cabin which I would recommend."

"This cabin was absolutely perfect for our family! The property is so beautiful and private. We were there for my daughter's graduation from Virginia Tech. I only wish we had a little more time to relax by the firepit and enjoy the soothing sounds of the stream that runs along the property."
