Log cabin with wood-fired sauna & Hot-Tub

Deep in the forests of Småland lies a log cabin built using the “skiftesverk” technique, a log-building method with roots in the Viking Age. The cabin has three bedrooms, a fireplace, a new bathroom, and a kitchen, and outside you’ll find a wood-fired sauna with a thatched roof, an outdoor hot tub, and a shower.



The fireplace in the living room provides warmth in the evenings, and the new bathroom and kitchen meet modern standards without losing the cabin’s rustic charm. Three bedrooms offer plenty of space for guests, and the log walls with their “skiftesverk” construction serve as a reminder of the craftsmanship behind every wall.



The sauna and outdoor hot tub offer an easy way to alternate between hot and cold, with the outdoor shower right next door. The cabin is surrounded by old-growth forest with ancient trees close by. It’s a six-minute drive to shops, restaurants, and Lake Åsnen.



In Urshult, you’ll find Farfars Bakeri and Restaurang Ladan, and there’s another location with the same name in Tingsryd. Börjes in Tingsryd is a large, standalone department store with plenty of curiosities, and Lasses in Ryd is worth a visit for anyone interested in historic building preservation.
