There are friendly animals on the property that add to the countryside experience. A family member lives on-site in a separate apartment downstairs to maintain the property, assist with check-in, and help if needed.

Hacienda Yagrumo offers a beautiful and immersive experience in nature. To ensure a safe and comfortable stay, we kindly ask guests to keep the following in mind:

• River Safety: While you are welcome to enjoy the river access points on the property, conditions can change quickly during or after rainfall. For your safety, please do not enter the river if it is raining or if rain is expected, as water levels can rise rapidly and create strong currents.

• Pool Safety: The pool is available for your enjoyment; however, there is no lifeguard on duty. Children must be actively supervised by an adult at all times. No diving, running, horseplay, or glass containers are permitted in the pool area. Please do not use the pool during thunderstorms or lightning, or while impaired by alcohol or other substances. Pool use is at your own risk.

• Natural Environment: As the hacienda is surrounded by lush countryside, you will encounter a variety of local wildlife, including insects and amphibians such as coquí frogs, bees, mosquitoes, wasps, and “midgees” (small biting gnats common in the area).

• Insect Protection: We strongly recommend using insect repellent containing DEET, especially when walking the property, visiting the river, or spending time outdoors—particularly during early morning and evening hours. This will help prevent bites and ensure a more comfortable experience.

• Outdoor Awareness: We encourage guests to wear appropriate footwear when exploring the grounds and to remain mindful of their surroundings to fully and safely enjoy the natural beauty of the property.

• Power and Water Amenities: Due to the nature of Puerto Rico’s infrastructure, occasional power outages may occur, especially during storms or heavy weather. For your convenience, a generator is available to support essential functions during any outages. Additionally, the property features a solar-powered water heater, ensuring reliable hot water throughout your stay.
