"We celebrated our 10-year anniversary at Banyan Tree in Guadalupe Valley, BC. The resort is beautiful, very eco-friendly, our sunset view suite was one of the most spectacular rooms we've experienced, and we have stayed at many 5-star resorts when traveling. The amenities, the private pool, and the indoor/outdoor shower were so special. We loved the entire experience, including the attentive staff and the hydrotherapy session at the spa. We will definitely visit again soon."
"Bruma Wine Resort is amazingly well designed in terms of landscape architecture and interior design: we stayed at one of the rooms in Casa 8 and enjoyed the spacious room and bathroom, the outdoor space, and the jacuzzi."
"The property was beautiful, the staff was friendly, but the bed was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in, point blank. I have never slept on a firmer mattress. Even my camping air mattress is more comfortable than this "glamping" bed!! If I wanted to sleep on the hard ground I would have just gone camping!
That said, the property and cabins are beautiful; it's very Instagram-worthy. The jacuzzi is nice and not too chlorinated. There are several horses at the property and also ATV's you can rent. The staff is friendly and even if you don't speak Spanish there is someone to help you out.
One weird thing besides the rock-hard bed was the shower. The "tiles" underfoot were made of wood. Some of them were loose and came unstuck while I was showering, leaving gaps in the floor that I then tetris'd together after my shower. The other weird thing was the shower "curtain" that was made of rope. VERY cute... also VERY impractical. And in my cabin, cabin 9, several of the ropes had completely frayed and were just dangling there, pretending to be a strange broken shower curtain.
Robes were kindly provided - but if I as a 5'6" 145lb woman had a hard time getting it to cover my bits, I'm not sure how a man could get it to cover anything at all. Maybe that's the point, who knows?
If you are an instagram influencer or someone who wants to rent out all the cabins for a bachelorette or some kind of event, this place will be perfect for you. Otherwise... not so sure."
"Lovely property. Rooms were large and well appointed. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Great food in the patio restaurant by the pool.
Would love to go back with more time to spend."
"Beautiful hotel! We barely saw any other guests on this gorgeous property so it felt like it was our own. Food was a little hit or miss (the steak is a hit, the poke bowl was a miss). Staff was soooo nice and very accommodating. Spa is not manned unless you have an appt scheduled so same day appts are unlikely to be accommodated, but they will make next day appts. Everything felt clean and well maintained. Bring your own drinks and food to the pool - there is no staff there. It was truly a treat to feel like we owned the place. The location of the property is a little out of the way, so you will either need to be prepared to drive to the vineyards (dirt roads, not well lit) or hire a driver (hotel suggested a great driver for $1700pesos/4hours). Uber is not reliable in the area. The location is very close to some of the BEST wineries and vineyards in the region. Food and drink throughout Valle is phenomenal. We will be back!"
"The hotel was beautiful and very unique. Our room was lovely, and the pool area was peaceful and relaxing.
However, for the price we paid, I expected a higher level of cleanliness and maintenance. When we checked in, the terrace was full of dirt, and unfortunately, it was not cleaned by housekeeping the following day. We also had issues with the hot water. During showers, the hot water would only last about three minutes before turning completely cold, forcing us to keep our showers extremely short.
The staff provided good service overall, but the bar could use improvement. The cocktail selection was very limited, and the drinks we tried were not particularly good. Service at the bar was also quite laid-back and slower than expected.
Overall, the property is beautiful and has a lot of charm, but there are several areas that need improvement to match the price point."
