Rustic Peaceful Fishing Cabin Near University of Alabama Tannehill Mercedes

This is a rustic fishing cabin on quaint and quiet Lake Retreat. The cabin truly is rustic and quiet. Built (we assume) by weekend warriors back in 1979, it became ours in May of 2018. Lake Retreat is part of the Lake View Property Owners Association. The owners, Chris and Nancy have paid the dues for the year, so the dock is available for fishing. The lake has Bass, Catfish, Blue Gill, and other Brim. Lake Retreat is a no-wake lake. The LPOA does not allow non-owner motorized boats on the lake. Swimming is not recommended. Water is not tested for e-coli.

This cabin is a peaceful getaway right on the serene water of Lake Retreat! The dock also has two Adirondack chairs so you can sit and fish or enjoy the view! We provide pond fish food so you can feed the fish and an occasional turtle off the dock.

This cabin includes a smart TV in the living area and another smart TV in the Queen bed bedroom. Both have remotes. The kitchen features an electric range, microwave, and a refrigerator with ice maker. You can fill the cooler on the way to the game! The cabin is great for relaxing after an Alabama football game.
Watercraft are not available.

ATV’s, 4 wheelers, and dirt bikes are prohibited. Do not flush anything but toilet paper in the toilet. Don’t try to access the cabin b4 check in day
Please wash dishes and put wet towels in bathtub. Place garbage in Brute can on deck and secure the lid. Please Provide accurate guest count.

We were in town for a baseball tournament in Tuscaloosa. We enjoyed being able to escape and our boys and other baseball players enjoyed coming to fish and grill out! Only suggestion is to add a washer/dyer!!

Quick trip

It rained quite a bit we were there, but we still had a great time. Beautiful views. The cabin was just a couple of minutes from my mom’s house, so close to everything we needed to get to. A great retreat while visiting family.

Nice and Cozy

This was a great little vacation spot for our family to enjoy a little spring break getaway. We had lots of fun fishing from the dock, playing games and watching movies. The cabin was clean, comfortable and fit our family of four perfectly. We will definitely stay here again if we are ever back in the area.

Quiet, clean getaway cabin

I am so glad i found this cabin! It is beautiful and the owners were very kind! The cabin is welcoming, the deck is perfect for relaxing and enjoying the outside views. Its pet friendly so we brought our pomeranian. She had just as much fun as we did!

Peaceful and Comfortable

We rented the cabin vs. a hotel to be near family for the holidays. It was so nice and quiet and my 80 year old mother loved it! The owners were so accommodating, allowing us to book an extra day at the last minute due to family illness. Highly recommend this quaint rustic cabin. We plan to book again next trip.

Get away

We attend a church conference every year in the area and tired of the hotel life. We tried staying here so we can relax between events and cook. This place is a perfect little peaceful get away. My wife and I saved it to favorites as a place to get away for the weekend. The pond view is awesome. Owners are very responsive and friendly. I highly recommend this place.

Quiet & peaceful

I stayed at this cabin for family weekend at the University of Alabama, and it was the perfect choice. Just 30 minutes from campus, it was much more affordable and comfortable than a hotel. The cabin itself was peaceful, well-maintained, and incredibly quiet—you could literally hear a pin drop! The lake was so pretty - truly exceeded my expectations. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, comfortable retreat!
