Owner family was so friendly. The room was so clean and easy to stay. I could use hot shower everytime. there are so many restaurant near the guesthouse. when I go Varanasi, I wanna stay here again!

u get what u pay for

u get what u pay for, the bed was clean, rest was old/dirty but OK for the money. the worst part was the check in progress. it took more then 30minutes. in the second day I asked for a second towel, the answer was "no". also no hot water on the second evening, had to use the water cooker to get some hot water. the wifi password was also a problem, took more then 5 minutes, to receive it. the best part of the hotel is the location, right at the water, next to the main Ghat. for female travelers perfect, so they don't have to walk the long shady alleyways at nighttime

I stayed here for 3 nights in Mar.2019. Its location is very very good. Near Dashashwamedth Ghat, which is very central & where everynight Aarti ceremony to Shiva & Mother Ganga, is performed. In a bazaar. Market nearby and handy. Guest House itself, is a guest house. Nothing fancy. But very good. clean rooms. Somewhat old sheets, pillows & towels, but clean. Good enough, unless you have OCD. Shower had hot water, apart from last day, but not a trouble, as it was warm, & I could take a shower with cold water too. The owners & managers are very helpful & accommodating. If I come back to Varanasi, I will stay here again.

受付の対応は良かったです。 予約した会社名を聞かれました。(本当に予約がされているのか、代金の支払いが感無量しているかどうか気になっているようでした。) 各階には旧友スペースがあったので、夜に旅人同士が語り合う場所がありました。 その中央には吹き抜けがあり、客人が洗濯物を干していました。屋上にもロープが設置されていているので、洗濯物を干すことは可能です！ 看板も路地に出ているので分かりやすいのですが、ずーっと路地の奥まで往くのであっているかどうか不安になりますが、ちゃんとあります。

バラナシについて直ぐに風邪をひいたのですが、薬や食事のお世話をして頂きました。立地もガート傍で屋上からガンジス川が見えて良かったです。またバラナシに行く際は、宿泊したいと思います。

Good Choice

It's not easy to find when you first arrive in town but they have a pick-up service to bring you right to the door. Family owned and operated by a friendly helpful staff, I ended up staying here for nearly a month with no regrets. The house and rooms are bright and well maintained.

Nice and clean

The guest house is familiar and the owners friendly. It was near restaurants and shops and the gath to the Ganga. On the roof top we could see the sunrise. We had a little problem with the hot water but we got it at last. Clean.

Poor value, service and accommodation

The only thing good about this place is the location. The room was dirty with filthy mats on the floor and cobwebs in the bathroom. The towels were so threadbare that they had holes in them and the staff were far from helpful; in fact they ripped us with transport from the station. They charged us R350 when even the tuk tuk driver only charged us R150 on the return, and we didn't even haggle! I seriously don't know how this place gets decent reviews as you can find much better accommodation virtually next door.

Good hostel in good location

We had a good experience with this hotel as we arrived in Varanasi in Holi day and it was impossible to reach the hotel, so The owner allowed us to enter just after two days of our booking and it was perfect to not lose our booking. Room is cleaner then most of indian hotels and location is good.

Make this your second choice

We stayed for three nights. The first night we were given a room with considerable mould. When we raised the issue, they admitted they knew about the problem and promised to change rooms for us the following day. IMO they should not be renting this room to anyone as it is a health issue. The second room was better and had a nice view of the Ganges. The hotel next door, Shiva, and Baba share a roof terrace and they have a good restaurant. They also arrange a boat tour for us and we received much more help from them than our own hotel. As other reviewers hVe mentioned, it is a lng walk in down an alley but don't let that be an issue.

Consider other options first

Can't justify complaining/nitpicking as it was only £10 per night. But for that price I've stayed in much more friendlier, cleaner, dryer, quieter, and better equipped places before... A great location is about my only positive.

Great Guesthouse Experience Near the Ghats

My four night stay was very comfortable. Hot showers and kind hosts really added to the experience. The wifi was frustratingly slow, but was manageable.

The staff at this guest house goes the extra mile to help make your stay and your experience in Varanasi pleasant. The guest house offers direct views of the Ganges from some of its rooms (including the dorm area).

What a great Guest House in Varanasi

WOW!! This place is a GEM! Gopal and Govind are the brothers who run this guesthouse just a few paces from Munshi Ghat and the main Ghats and action in Varanasi. A little hard to find, but just ask around. Gopal and Govind were the best hosts. The family lives in the guesthouse and are helpful in anything you need. They let us check out late without even batting an eye. The rooftop views are quite possibly the best in Varanasi. Rooms clean and basic but, priced perfectly and when you consider the location, really a steal! BABA GUESTHOUSE was a high point hotel wise in India, and the family running it made it all that much better. Again, not luxury, but so much more is important when booking like the owner, location and comfort of the rooms. They also have other cheaper options available with dorms, but the private room we had was perfect! Thanks AGAIN Gopal and Govind (J) for the wonderful stay!
