"Staff was friendly and helpful. Fresh fruit for breakfast was unbelievably fresh- an absolute highlight. Amenities for us felt like everything we needed and nothing we didn't. Steps from a pristine beach with really fine sand and beautofully warm ocean water with light surf. It's at a quieter stretch of the beach near its south end, with mountain and sunset views that are perfection. A private lounging area is provided to guests, teeming with wildlife from iguanas to monkeys, squirrels to crabs, all minded by staff 24/7. Would love to see gluten free breakfast options in the future. Still, absolutely loved this gem of a hotel."

"The hotel looks beautiful from the outside and it’s very easy to get to the beach. However it’s really disappointed inside the room, with old furniture and kind of less than standard minimal supplies. There’s a coffee maker but no coffee powders. No coffee at the front lobby either and you need to buy from outside. There’s no cup in the room and you had to ask from the front desk. So was the hair dryer."

"I stayed in Tamarindo. This hotel is in the center of town and is a nice hotel. It’s a small hotel 24 rooms or so. Pool in the middle of rooms. Everything went smoothly and staff is great. My room only had single AC unit for the room and the room gets hot even with the AC running all the time. And I was the last unit on the top row of rooms and WiFi connection was barely in range some of the time . Other than those 2 issues. It was a great property and clean. Close to the beach, supermarket, souvenirs and coffee shops. "

"We loved it here! The food was amazing. The staff were so friendly. We got to see the most wildlife at our hotel, more than during our tours. Howling monkeys right outside our room, ant eaters, iguanas. I named the black and white cat by the beach bar ROCKY. He loves pets. Kevin was so awesome by the beach bar. Minor complaint is shower is brutal to wash hair and it’s very easy for bugs to get in so do a good check. We had a massive cockroach in our room and various other little bugs."

"We had a great stay at the W. It was a beautiful resort with helpful staff. There was some wear and tear on furniture in the room but didn’t impact the stay. It was definitely pricey but paying for the brand. Only thing I wish was that for families traveling the adult only pool is beautiful and we will there were some hours that kids could enjoy the space as well."

"The room was outdated, smelling old, but clean. They are planning a remodel later this year. Restaurants, bars, pools and grounds were excellent! There are chaise lounges on the beach, but no umbrellas. A few trees offer shade, but are mostly overtaken by local vendors who have “shops” there. The staff was wonderful, trying to accommodate every wish we had."
