The Azorean Cottage felt like home and well equipped in every way. Less than 5 minutes from the airport! It was spotless, and the communication with the host was excellent. Very relaxing and peaceful, I hope to be able to go back and book 3-4 weeks!

Perfect holiday getaway
Excellent location, very welcoming host. This property is extremely well equipped with incredible attention to detail provided by the host. The property is like staying in a family home with plenty of information provided regarding the local area and facilities available. We could not fault anything at all and would stay in this property again without hesitation

Superb views over Pico
Great location to explore different places in Sao Jorge, just a few kilometres from the airport, with a mini-market closely, restaurants and swimming area within walking distance and over all wonderful views over Pico island with Pico mountain. We found the cottage very clean. There are folders with useful information incl. main attractions and hiking trails. Good Wi-Fi Internet is available. This cottage deserves a recommendation :).

This was a lovely house with a beautiful view of Pico island. Teresa was a very accommodating hostess, and despite a glitch at check in she was very good about being in contact and keeping communication open with us. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on Sao Jorge and at the Azorean Cottage. I would definitely recommend staying here. Thank you!

La maison de Jackie est un havre de paix sur une île qui vaut absolument le peine d’être visitée. Nous avons particulièrement apprécié le confort et l’équipement parfait de la cuisine. Le supermarché juste à côté est un atout. Hautement recommandé!

une maison avec concert d'oiseaux et vue sur l'océan
Petite maison quadrangulaire en contrebas de la route, disposant de baies vitrées et d'une grande terrasse, en partie abritée du soleil ou de la pluie, avec vue sur l'océan et sur Pico Ilha. La maison elle-même est fonctionnelle, composée de deux chambres, d'une salle d'eau, d'un coin télé, et surtout d'une grande pièce comportant, d'un côté cuisine en angle équipée et pleine de tout le nécessaire pour qui veut cuisiner (y compris ingrédients de base de la cuisine comme épices, huile, etc), de l'autre côté grande table pour repas ou autres activités requérant une table (avec des arbres, l'océan, Pico Ilha directement en face). Le plaisir principal de la maison réside dans l'omniprésence des chants des oiseaux, pleins d'entrain du matin au soir, notamment les merles, et dans la vue qui est offerte, avec en particulier le sommet du Pico (une maison en construction en occulte désormais une grande partie, sauf à monter à l'arrière de la maison). Les bruits des voitures s'entendent peu, ou s'oublient rapidement. Un des avantages de la maison, outre son aspect fonctionnel et sa vue, est aussi son emplacement, proche de Velas et l'aérodrome, et d'Urzelina, et permettant l'accès direct aussi bien vers la montagne et l'autre côté de l'île que vers les deux pointes de l'île. Parmi les restaus, celui qui a eu notre faveur (trois fois en une semaine) : O Branquinho à Rosais près de Velas (plats de grande qualité, avec éléments d'originalité, à prix modiques, comme la morcela com ananas en entrée, l'espetada de camarãoes com lulas et patinha, ou le cataplana de bacalhau ou de peixe), et, à un moindre degré, O Castelinho à Urzelina (bonne bacalhau, bonne viande, mais pulvo et camarãoes à prix excessifs pour portions réduites). Une précision concernant la maison : existence d'une machine à café Krup, mais seules certaines capsules peuvent convenir, en revanche, contrairement à un avis précédent, on trouve évidemment du café moulu dans les magasins même s'il n'existe pas de cafetière dans la maison. Bien qu'elle ait été absente de l'île lors de notre séjour, Jackie a été du début à la fin attentive à ce que tout se passe bien, par téléphone ou textos, et ayant une personne de confiance sur place. Elle a eu la gentillesse de prévoir du pain, du lait, de la confiture, pour notre arrivée. Donc un super séjour.

Maison très agréable et très bien équipée
Nous avons passé un très bon séjour. La maison est très agréable avec vue sur Pico, les chambres sont climatisées et le grand lit est vraiment grand. La maison est également très bien équipée et bien située.

Wir haben 1 Woche auf der Wanderinsel genossen. Das Haus ist bestens ausgestattet und die Lage der Terrasse mit Blick auf den Pico lädt zum Entspannen ein. Frau Oliveira unterstütze uns sehr mit Infomaterial und war unkompliziert erreichbar. Vielen Dank Hiltrud, Oktober 2018

Joli cottage bien équipé et bien situé
Nous avons passé une semaine très agréable sur Sao Jorge, une île absolument splendide pour qui aime la nature sauvage et les paysages grandioses, qu'on ne peut vraiment apprécier qu'à pied (même si les routes sont très pratiquables). Le cottage est situé à Urzelina, petit bourg bien niché près de la côte sud, très souvent plus ensoleillé (ou moins nuageux...) que le reste de l'île, et à mi-distance de pratiquement tous les sites à visiter (est-ouest et nord-sud) ou départs de randonnées. La terrasse donne directement sur Pico. Malgré les averses fréquentes intrinsèques au climat des Acores, nous avons adoré les petits déjeuners et repas sur la terrasse, au calme, accompagnés par le chant des oiseaux! Le cottage est vraiment bien équipé (four, micro-ondes, lave linge, lave vaisselle, sèche cheveux, wifi, etc etc (ne manque qu'une machine à café mais on ne trouve de toute façon pas de café sur l'île à part du café soluble donc il y a une certaine logique, ici on ne boit que du café soluble). Les propriétaires sont adorables et très serviable, et font tout pour que l'on se sente bien, et ont toujours de gentilles attentions. Vraiment une jolie location, que je recommande, en outre très bon marché (notamment comparée aux prix élevés pratiqués sur l'île voisine de Pico, plus touristique, même si on ne parle heureusement pas ici de tourisme de masse). N'hésitez donc pas à louer cet Azorean Cottage et à vous adresser à Jackie la propriétaire!
