"The property was dilapidated and old, and it was in a sketchy spot. The lobby smelled like sewage. Once in our room the carpet was not very clean, the air conditioning unit was old and loud. There were no premium channels as advertised, the furniture was old and well used. The pool was closed even though it was used as a selling point, and when I checked older reviews, it’s obviously closed for the last couple of years. The worst part of the room was that the toilet was extremely low and I’m pretty sure it can’t have been up to code. I am handicapped and although it was advertised that it was ADA friendly I could barely get down to the toilet without falling and there was nothing to hold onto it was nothing like advertised nor like the pictures shown and because I’ve always booked through Expedia I assumed I could trust what I was booking. I was extremely disappointed with the entire trip and this was only one day."
"Staff were nice. Property is dated and rooms are okay. Plenty of parking while I was there. The restaurant on property, Black Olive, is not part of the hotel. Food not as good as when I was there around a year ago.
Overall my stay was good. I will be back."
"The owner was lovely and very friendly. The hotel was right up my alley, I love anything to do with history. Very clean and well maintained for such an older building. The view of the river is amazing. I didn’t see much of the town, had a long drive and left early the next morning."
"Clerk at check in was a grump. First automatic entry do was in a state of needing repair. Odd front desk location, no line of sight to greet guests. Requested some minor service which wasn’t handled well. Coffee pod restock (no decaf). No coffee cups. Kleenex box was empty. Towels and soap removed. Towels were not replaced. Breakfast buffet was good though not great."
