Quinta Esmeralda - "Main House" Countryside Farm Stay Near Porto & Douro

Experience the serenity of the Portuguese countryside in an adult-centric 4BR/3.5BA, 2-level private house on a beautiful farm north of Porto; a traditional granite walled property with modern amenities on picturesque grounds. This is one of two adjoining homes with separate entrances; they do not share interior spaces maintaining privacy in the respective household. The owner and hosts live on-premise, across from the rentals on a separate terrace. Most outdoor spaces are shared.

Private accommodations, with a focus on wine and culinary tourism, set on a scenic farm in Northern Portugal. Featuring classic stone architecture, blending rustic charm with modern amenities. Slow down, relax and immerse yourself in our orchards, organic vegetable garden and terraces.

For those who are interested in doing the Camino de Santiago, we are located near a credential pick-up and stamp location in our town center and are a convenient option for those adventurers desiring a more boutique lodging than a traditional Albergue.

Quinta Esmeralda is a community oriented, welcoming safe space that embraces diversity. Respect for humans and nature that reside both within and beyond our stone walls is fundamental.

Essential to note: Our property features a multitude of steps which are often steep, irregular and without rails. Additionally, there are low-lit areas and various cobblestone paths throughout the Quinta, parts of which originated in 1867. Unfortunately, this makes our property unsuitable for infants, young children or guests with mobility challenges. Consequently, this property is specifically catered to an adult clientele.

Please be advised: a TOURIST TAX is charged at check-in and collected in cash. 1€/per person, per night, for guests 16 years of age and older; up to a maximum of 14 consecutive nights for reservations. A receipt is available upon request.

We are conveniently located by car within 15 min of Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport, 25 min of Porto, 20 min of Vila do Conde, 45 min of Braga, 1.5hr of Peso da Régua, Douro Valley and 1.25hr to the Galician border. Both Uber and Bolt are very efficient, accessible and reasonably priced.

Farm-life celebrates a diverse ecosystem that includes birds, lizards, bees, and other wildlife. We hope that you will enjoy this harmony and appreciate nature's abundance. Out of respect for such, pets are not allowed.

The cobblestone roads in our village are narrow and without sidewalks. Stay alert for cars, motorcycles and other vehicles if walking around the village!

Once a booking is confirmed, we will share all the relevant and necessary details! Additional amenities may be available during your stay and we are thrilled to highlight a different perspective of Portugal!

The owner and hosts live on-premise, across from the rentals on a separate terrace. We will be 'responsibly open' taking into consideration our guests preferences.

We will do our best to prioritize peoples privacy and space; bear in mind, this is our full-time home and places such as the laundry area may be utilized frequently.

Most of the outdoor spaces are shared and require routine maintenance; this involves us and occasionally other individuals.
