"If you have a car, and have the good fortune to be traveling in the Douro Valley, this place is not to be missed. It is a bit hard to get to, but well worth the effort. Fantastic setting, beautiful rooms and amenities, and 5-star service. This is a family-run guesthouse, and Maria knows the area, the history, the products, and the hospitality business. Just a gem. I regret that I didn’t build in a day just to relax, visit one or 2 of the nearby (5 minute drive) wineries, and relax by the pool...

"This visit was one of the highlights of our entire trip to Portugal. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with such kindness from our host Miguel. Located in the Douro valley surrounded by beautiful terrace vineyards, this property is truly unique. There is great attention to detail throughout the experience. From the kid’s mini soccer field, to the wine tasting, and the incredible dinner and breakfast, one night wasn’t enough to soak it all in. We hope to return to this magical place! "

"Stunning environment, comfortable accommodation and pool. We loved that it was out of town and that we were surrounded by vineyards, Roman walls, olive trees and because it was harvest - workers singing in the valley below. Olga our host was incredibly accommodating: all queries immediately addressed and she even helped us choose restaurants. Thank you Jorge Moreira - your wines are delicious and also to the gorgeous Lillianna, Jorge and Antonio. We’ll be back."
