"Ashreya Suites is simply wonderful in every way one might hope a hotel could be—and especially so, amid the spiritual backdrop of Tiruvannamalai. Our guest room was comfortable (with an apparent new bed.) The hotel staff was responsive and accommodating. A superb breakfast is included. And the multi-level building is filled with aesthetic ambiance at every turn. We especially enjoyed the rooftop at night overlooking the lush surround—with sacred Arunachala Hill looming in intimate proximity.
The hotel is very close to the Girivalam walk as well. I’m personally not a swimmer; but the hotel also has a large, beautiful, well maintained swimming pool for those so inclined."
"Overall a good property, but it suffers from the usual niggles you expect in Indian 2* - strong room freshener that hits as you enter, 1 of the WCs leaked, we took 2BHK room but it didn't have electric kettle or any kitchen stuff. Another thing that hits you is the toilet faucet, we call it the 'wake up water cannon'!
One of the days our room was ransacked by monkeys. There is a grill on windows but no mesh so apparently little monkeys can get in. I had left window open to get over the room smell.
Some reviews mention the restaurant which has good seating and AC. The complimentary breakfast, however, is 'mini' tiffin and not a buffet. Their sambar looks attractive in a small bucket, but if you're staying here I would suggest eat out as all the 4 times we ate there the sambar had only large pieces of onion, tomato and green chillies with chilli tops! This is a poor representation of Andhra sambar. "
"The hotel is hopeless. From the moment we step in there are plenty of red flags. Firstly, the lift was not working and the receptionist (I don' know what language he is speaking) apologised for the inconvenience. The room ambience is very poor with no proper ventilation. The room is not clean at all with worn out blankets and pullovers. The set of towels given were worn out and of poor quality. Almost to the extent of being thrown out. I don't know why they were given. On calling the service desk, the phone went unanswered. The toilet is hopeless with no shower facility and no toiletries provided. The hot water system is dysfunctional and I had to take cold showers for both the days I stayed. On repeated requests to check why the hot water system is not working the response from the receptionist was that it only works on solar power which is a ridiculous answer. After raising concerns, I was promised that the hot water system will be functional very soon with no relief in sight. I had to take cold showers again for day 2 which is a terrible terrible inconvenience. There are families with babies raising concerns about hot water system only to be told by the receptionist that the issue has been taken care off. The beds has ticks (bedbugs) which I noticed when my wife complained of rashes on her hand. This hotel is a joke and I was surprised to see this hotel being promoted on Expedia. Avoid this hotel at all costs."
