Location is convenient to the airport and well placed as a base for exploring Iceland. The room was spacious and comfortable and the shared kitchen is well equipped and conveniently located to the rooms. The managers were friendly and helpful. In short, a great find. We would certainly go there again.

Nice little place!!!
We stayed one night. Very clean space. Had a shared kitchen that was well stocked and very clean. Hot tub was not on due to severe cold weather and sub freezing temps risking freezing of water pipes. Nearby eating options extremely limited. Although we didn’t see the northern lights, the town had an excellent viewing area.

Highly recommend!
A great little motel with plenty for 1/2 nights. We used as a base to drive to Reykjavík and Golden Circle. Provided everything we needed and even had a tablet to watch Netflix etc on. Check in instructions are clear and I would recommend should you want to use as a base or as stop from the airport.

Great Motel - New and Updated - felt like a hotel!
Great little motel - clean, new and updated, has a fully stocked shared kitchen (even has an air-fryer). Small shower, but had the best shower head and pressure of all our hotels in Iceland all week. Highly recommend this motel. It was a great find for our last day in Iceland - wish we had found it earlier in our travels.

We have a great experience stay at the newly built hotel. It is clean, quite. The host is very kind and give us warm welcome. He helped me doing the laundry late in the night. This is definitely a good choice before flight out Iceland.

There was no pool, and said there was. No lake or water like the picture showed. Pictures of the motel were very deceiving. The beds were comfortable & kitchen nice . Room was very small.

We have private hot tubes but not swimming pool ( our guest can use public one free of charge)Small lake is 800 meters from Motel but you need to take a walk to know that. The road around the village takes 30 minutes and runs along the ocean with a nice view

The site does not make it clear that there are no food and restaurants around. The motels site also makes it look like there is a shuttle service as part of the motel, but it’s only if you pay and it is expensive. Normally when a hotel rates there is shuttle service , it is part of the service and not a separate payment. I have an issue with food and did not know no food was around. I could not possibly stay there due to physical and medical reasons and they charged me even though I did not end up staying there and there was no negotiating with them. The property itself is very nice if you want a quiet place in the middle of nowhere with no shops around.

Dear Sherry,you arrived at our motel very early in the morning and wanted to check in. Unfortunately, you realized that the motel is not close to the capital and it will be difficult to get around without a car. Your decision was not to stay at the motel and not cancel your reservation because you had already paid for it. You were only supposed to be in Iceland for two days. Your health and physical condition was very good, so your opinion does not seem to be true. It is your responsibility to become familiar with the local attractions and services offered by the motel and the city.

The place is clean and the room is relatively nice, but beyond that the room is very small and the shower room is also cramped and small, the entrance is straight from the street so you can hear noises in the room and the soundproofing is not good. Only a small hanger on the wall so it was difficult for a couple to find a place to put their clothes. There is no closet in the room. There is a blessing in the description of the room, but it is probably a city blessing and not a blessing attached to the hotel. Not worth the price and in hindsight you can find a much better place in the area for the same price.

While the couple who owned the place were nice and tried their best, it is just unfortunate that the surroundings were not great. There is no store or service in the area and there is a possibility for a lot of noise as there is another hostel type unit in the backyard. The night we were there, there was a party until 3am and we did not get much sleep at all. There is also no place to sit and relax outside the unit so for two people, it was a little tight on space and not very comfortable for two nights.

Tthe rooms are not too big but they have everything you need. Unfortunately, we are still fighting to improve the appearance of our neighbors. There is a bench for a few meters by the hot tubes. The garden is under development and we are still working on it

Perfect. This was a lovely stay with a wonderfully informative hostess. Absolutely great stay. Thank you Monika you were a terrific help. The rooms were clean. We spent every night in the hot tub enjoying our time in Iceland. There is a lovely Polish store a couple meters away. Highly recommend if you want a spot away for the busy downtown.

Enjoyed my stay here. The hotel is located in a quiet residential neighborhood that’s located close to the airport. I also really liked the on-site kitchen as it was very well stocked with a microwave, refrigerator, stove, kitchen utensils etc.

We did an overnight stay as it was close to the airport - 10 minute drive. Beds are comfortable. We also used the hot tub which was great after a long day hiking and driving in cold weather conditions. Hosts are super friendly!

Nice place to stay away from the airport, room was very clean and comfortable. The name definitely fits for the area, strong cold winds but was nice and warm in the rooms. We would definitely stay again. Never had to check in, room was unlocked with key waiting and communication with property via email, it was great!

Highly recommend you stay here.
Highly recommended. It’s off the beaten path which made it a great place for us to reorganize and enjoy our last night in Iceland. The room was comfortable, clean and beautifully decorated. The kitchen was great to have since we had leftover food from camping. The hot tub was a welcome treat and meeting the owner who was welcoming and responsive was great. We were able to check in early and the location is not far from attractions in Keflavik and Reykjavik etc.

Wonderful starting place for Iceland vacation
We spent two nights at Arctic Wind and found it cozy, clean and comfortable. The hosts, Monika and Richard, were helpful and kind. The location was perfect after an overnight flight from Canada (Blue Lagoon and Reykjavik are both easy to reach) and we cooked most of our meals in the well-equipped kitchen. We would return in a heartbeat!

The place is small, simple and clean. Plenty for 1 or 2 people. It’s a nice property in a quiet location for a good price. There are no shops or restaurants in Vogar; but presumably if you’re thinking of staying here you have a car, and Keflavik and Reykjavik are a short drive away, so you just need to plan ahead. All nice with good communication.

Monika spent time with us to talk about the weather and our routes. She came to our door to make sure all was well and offered help as needed. They were working on backyard improvements but had so weather issues. It will be extra special with that complete. Free access to the local pool was terrific. Hot pools and warm pool. Great jet tub.
