"We have traveled thru the area before and Serena is such a great place we have returned. The room is spacious, the mattresses very comfortable. The breakfast is a real stand out. Staff is so helpful and it's very very quiet. Be aware this is not a new motel, and there are signs of its age. There are a few spots on the carpet, but it's very clean and smells great! We will definitely stay there again when we are in the area."

"This is a great hidden gem right off a main street in Spearfish. It's has great highway access and is close to local shops as well as the store and food names we're all know. It is a revamped motel, as in doors to the rooms open to the parking lot but with the keypad entry and inside dead bolt we felt secure. The features and amenities are well chosen, look modern, and convenient. The host, though not on site, was easy to communicate with and helpful. Would definitely stay here again."

"Awesome hotel, ended up coming back there for a second night while I was on a roadtrip. Very nice rooms. I’m always a big fan of having newer TVs that you can stream on instead of just cable. Stayed in room 100 the first night with the Jet tub. Highly recommended"

"Cabin 1 - The good: Quiet, peaceful and clean. Comfortable bed, good heating and AC. Small kitchen with fridge, microwave, stove and sink. Big TV. The possible issues: Not handicapped accessible due to stairs into the cabin; very small shower. Also concerned with access if raining and you don't have 4W drive, due to DG/gravel road to cabin, but it was dry when we were there. Biggest complaint is there is no mirror besides the one in the bathroom, so getting ready for the day was a bit difficult; also I didn't see a hair dryer, but traveled with one, so all was well. All in all, we enjoyed our stay."

"Room was clean and comfortable, and the rustic lounge was welcoming and enjoyable. Excellent coffee in the morning is free to guests. Food options are limited, and the one restaurant across the street served very good food, but was quite expensive. Driving to the town of Spearfish isn't a practical option, especially navigating the canyon after dark."
