Welcome to Walloon
Our newly remodeled 3-bedroom, 1.5-bath home is located in the heart of the village of Walloon Lake, Michigan — known by locals as “The Foot.” Just 100 yards from the water, the cottage sits perfectly between the charm of the village and the peaceful beauty of the lake itself.

Location & Setting
The cottage is located in the village of Walloon Lake, affectionately called “The Foot” because of its location at the southern end of the lake. From here, you’re less than a minute’s walk to public lake and dock access, where you can swim, wade, or simply sit by the shore and take in the stunning, Caribbean-like clear water and sandy bottom that Walloon is known for.
The village park and public beach are family favorites, offering an easy way to enjoy the lake without needing a boat. Stroll the charming streets, stop by the General Store, grab coffee or lunch at The Walloon Lake Inn or Barrel Back Restaurant, and browse the local shops and marina — all within easy walking distance of the cottage.
During the summer months, Walloon comes alive with boaters, concerts, and lakeside events, yet still maintains its peaceful and friendly atmosphere. Autumn brings breathtaking colors and crisp mornings perfect for hiking or scenic drives. Winter transforms the area into a cozy wonderland with skiing, snowshoeing, and holiday charm, while spring offers quiet beauty as the lake and village awaken once again.

The Walloon Experience
For generations, Walloon Lake has been a place where families return year after year — not just for the lake, but for the feeling it gives you. Long summer days on the water, quiet afternoons on the porch, and evenings filled with laughter and sunsets over the lake are what make this place truly special.
As someone who grew up in Walloon and now shares it with my own family, I can say there’s no place quite like it. Each visit brings back memories of tubing and water skiing, reading on the porch, and watching the sun set over the glassy water. It’s a place where time slows down, friendships deepen, and traditions grow.
When summer ends, we immediately start counting the days until we’re back — and we hope you’ll feel the same after your stay.

Beautiful area and a darling place! I’ve stayed in many vrbos and the cleanliness of this home beat them all! The owners are super and wonderful to work with. I’d love to return here when the opportunity arises again!
While our stay was very short, this cottage worked out great for myself and my employees, as were in town traveling to a job site. Very clean and comfortable!
Wonderful trip and stay! Very clean! Accurate listing, responsive kind owners right next store :) had fancy coffee machine, soft extra blankets , Apple TV and a pack and play! Perfect stay for my family with young kids!
Stayed here on a ski weekend with our adult kids.Adorable place! Well appointed, comfortable beds and close to dining . Loved the coffee maker! Communication with the owner was easy and with quick responses. Would certainly return!
Stayed with 3 friends celebrating a birthday. We walked to the small downtown, just blocks away, and enjoyed Christmas lights. This house is very clean, the owner nice and caring.
Our week-long stay at this property was extremely enjoyable. The property was clean and well-maintained, and its location provided us with easy access to various attractions. The nearby restaurants were also a highlight, and we would highly recommend them. We would not hesitate to rebook if we ever come back to this area.
What a beautiful cottage in a quaint, red-filled area a short walk to Walloon Lake. The fall colors were all around and the cozy, comfortable cottage was the perfect way to be welcomed home. Our host, Scott, was easy to communicate and has created a home away from home.
This was our second time staying at this house. It’s perfectly set up and clean. Worked great for our family. The owners were very kind and accommodating. Highly recommend.
We were having a family reunion and needed an extra cottage to hold our expanding family. This cottage was perfect because it’s so close to ours that family members could easily run between the two. Perfect size for six people. Well laid out floor plan and great outdoor space..spacious front porch and back patio. And sooo clean! We will definitely be renting this again!
The hosts were responsive with questions and the house was comfortable and well maintained. It was very close to downtown Walloon Lake with only a 5-min walk. The house was very clean and had a lot of extra bath and beach towels available. It also had a huge laundry room, a small dishwasher, and a mini split air conditioner to keep the upstairs bedrooms cool. We appreciated having Wi-Fi as well as Apple TV. We would recommend the house and stay again.
Highly recommend, so clean and cozy. Perfect location, walking distance to Barrel Back, Walloon Inn and the town. Every need met and exceeded expectations.
