"This is a perfectly fine, small town motel. Reminded me of all the places we stayed as a kid: swimming pool, horse shoes, croquet, BBQ grill, fire pit, movies to borrow and a nice breakfast: waffles, cereal, toast, biscuits and gravy, eggs and sausage, coffee and drinks. Staff were all warm and helpful. Lots of free room on the property back to the river to explore."

"We had a wonderful stay at the Mt. Gardner Inn in Winthrop. What really stood out was the care and attention to detail that Greg and Alison put into the property. It is clear that they take great pride in maintaining the inn and ensuring that guests have a comfortable and enjoyable stay. We especially appreciated the personal supervision they give to housekeeping and room cleaning. The rooms and entire property were exceptionally clean, well maintained, and thoughtfully cared for. That level of attention is not something you often find at larger hotels. Greg and Alison have created a warm, welcoming, and beautifully maintained place to stay, and their personal involvement clearly makes a difference. We would happily stay here again and would highly recommend the Mt. Gardner Inn to anyone visiting Winthrop."

"This was a very pleasant place with great views! We had a couple of lovely hikes with our pups and we were about 35 minutes away from popular trail heads like Blue Lake and Cutthroat lake trails. It was also close to downtown Winthrop, so was very convienent. The place is clean and well equpped with a wonderufl porch that overlooks the valley. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is that it is attached to a shop of some kind (painting?) , and there was a moderate chemical smell when coming into the apartment."

"Our location was fabulous for providing homebase for all the hikes we wanted to do in the area. We enjoyed the large hot tub each evening though no jets - just a soaker. The accommodations were a little rocky the first couple days because the front door wouldn’t lock and the gas fireplace wouldn’t turn on. However, our hosts were responsive. Both of them were pretty ill so it took two days to get the situation resolved. Bed was comfy, kitchen functioned well, and it was quiet. We saw deer and turkeys every day and even a black bear. The town of Winthrop was close by with a couple of restaurants for going out to dinner and bakeries and cute shops. We would stay there again."

"We stayed in one of the motel style rooms. They were clean, decent sized with a couch in the room- which is always a bonus. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area.. the room was very dated - circa 1970s and it was pricey at $200 a night for what it was. It was located close to tge Main Street, restaurants and grocery store. If the price would have been better and the rooms updated we would have gave it 5 stars. Overall it was clean, comfortable, well locatwith friendly staff."
