"Room was well appointed, very spacious with large bathroom and lots of counter space. Great view of the lake from the balcony.
Staff were very nice and attentive. All in all, a lovely stay."
"The shops were at a walking distance but the property at the hotel was fine and the parking was easy the rooms were spacious and well stocked with necessities like Kleenex "
"We had a wonderful stay at this charming lakeside inn. Stephanie was the perfect host—she greeted us warmly from the moment we arrived and made us feel right at home throughout our visit.
The Saucy Willow Inn, at 143 years old, is full of character and history. It has been beautifully renovated over the past few years, blending modern comforts with its original charm and thoughtful details. The property itself is expansive, peaceful, and absolutely gorgeous, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind.
Our room was spotless and very comfortable (the mattress was wonderful!) In the morning, we enjoyed delicious freshly baked scones and coffee for breakfast (other options offered included bagels, eggs, overnight oats and smoothies). What a lovely way to start the day!
If you're looking for a quiet getaway with exceptional hospitality (and only 1.5 hours from Toronto) the Saucy Willow Inn is a fantastic choice. We will be back again soon!
Thank you again, Stephanie!"
"The cottage was lovely, clean and bright. Thank you for leaving some water for us to use. We stayed during the middle of a heat wave and even without air conditioning, the ceiling fans in each bedroom worked well. We enjoyed our stay."
"We absolutely loved The apartment !! Check in was a breeze. It was so beautiful, spacious and very clean, had lovely furniture and a large tv. Looks Just as it appears in photos. 3 Large bedrooms, 1 bathroom and 1 ensuite. We couldn’t have asked for a better location!! Right by the water, a 10 minute walk to town, a pub/restaurant across the street. And lots of shops ,restaurants etc within walking distance. We will definitely come back next year, once we know our dates. The host was great at getting back to me answering questions quickly and checking that we were happy with everything. A couple of suggestions I would like to make though are putting in a toilet paper holder of some kind. It was very awkward if you sat down without thinking of picking one up off the tank and then trying to reach behind you to get it. Or having to place it on the floor,..not sanitary. A towel hook for the bath towel closer to the shower would make it easier than trying to reach across the room to grab it without slipping or getting the floor wet. Perhaps even adding a shelf or a little table to put a toiletries bag on in the bathroom. The kitchen was well equipped with an oven, stove, refrigerator , micro wave, coffee maker ,kettle , toaster and blender. Unfortunately, What it didn’t have was a bigger pot to cook pasta in. That is something that would have come in very handy. The pots included were a little too tiny for cooking anything more than a sauce. But we still survived. Thank you !"
"Excellent experience, easy to access with exact GPS location, giving a more natural scenic experience, a short drive to any amenities most being within 20 mins"
"We were unfamiliar with the Haliburton Post House and booked two nights , mid week, on a whim to get out of town. The room was beautiful, the food and wine selection was great. We took advantage of their waterfront and toys on what may have been the hottest day of the year. Thanks to the staff who made us feel welcome and were the highlight of our stay."
"We had so much fun at this resort. The cabin was perfect and everything was clean and exactly what we expected. The outdoor table and set up was so nice to be able to watch kids play either at the park or the beach, and also just enjoy a morning coffee. We used the boats and kayaks and games room too. Only thing was you have to park at the main area and carry items to your cabin but it’s not far. Would definitely recommend to other families. We will be back!"
