Long weekend in DC
We enjoyed the quiet neighborhood and being close proximity to the bus/Union Station. Please note this propeery does not have a hair dryer as listed. Not a deal breaker for me, but I would have taken my own had I known because I have very long hair. The property manager was quick with any responses.

Great Location and Price
Great little property and a nice place to stay if you are out and about in the city all day and need a place to crash. Easy to get anywhere from the apt. Only thing that was a downside is some of the outlets were burnt out and some electrical boxes didn’t have covers on them. Small safety concerns, but didn’t affect the stay.

Great Stay, Especially for the Price
This was a great spot to stay, and I definitely recommend for a weekend getaway! The check-in process was easy with a simple lock-bock access process, so we were free to get there anytime after our designed "check-in time" in a manner that was flexible with our schedule. The host was very generous leaving snacks and waters for our use, and the home-owner that lives about (Eric) was very welcoming and even supplied us with extra blankets. We would definitely stay here again, and it was very clean, as I know that the host uses a cleaning service before and after every client stay. Also, as my own personal advice for future visitors regarding the parking (since I know it is mostly hourly/permit parking in the area) is to put your car in the parking garage that is about 2-3 blocks away (I believe the garage's name is "Colonial Parking" and it's right next to the 718 8th Street NE residence) as it was only $18 per night to keep your car there. Very reasonable price for a weekend stay especially for a city area.

Awesome location and very stocked!
This site is walking distance from the Capitol, Smithsonian museums, and everything else! We alternated between rideshares and walking. There were snacks, water, and ample toiletries provided. There were also plenty of blankets and towels. There is no long-term parking on the street but there is a parking garage within a two minute walk. I kept my car there Sunday afternoon to Friday morning and paid $45, which I thought was a great price!

Job interview and apartment search.
My wife interviewed for a once-in-a-lifetime job opportunity close to Capitol Hill and we wanted to stay close-by for the convenience. This property served as a perfect hub for access to Capitol Hill and the Capitol Hill District. She was able to walk to her interview and we were able to tour numerous apartment complexes in the area. This saved us tremendous time and money since we didn’t have to rent a vehicle. The property provided all of the amenities we needed for this venture. Roydell was extremely responsive and helpful in meeting our needs. We highly recommend this property if you have business or just want to spend some time in the Capitol Hill area.

i liked a lot how lovely and cozy the place was. I appreciate that the rooms, bathroom and kitchen where very clean . Dont think this is a place for 3 grown ups because the sofa from the living room was pretty hard on the back...however we loved our stay and probably come back:)

DC experience-
This property needs a good deep cleaning as floors and area rugs were quite dirty- all areas need painting. It felt like a dumping place for old furniture and every surface was cluttered with some unnecessary item. The outside door lock was barely attached. The cleaning fees for this property were quite high and one would expect a cleaner setting. There was no communication with owner other than telling us where the lockbox was. We asked for specific directions to the place other than a street address-had we been given instructions from Union Station like we requested we would not have had to walk 1.5 miles with our luggage.

Hi Kathy: I have read the public review that you posted about your experience post-stay and would like to comment. Clearly this is your opinion and one that has never experienced by any prior guests based on our current standings. This particular property might not have fit your needs and expectations but have proven to be perfect for others. A cleaning crew has always cleaned after every check-out and the $65 cleaning fee in well in-line and comparable to neighboring host/units. I do acknowledged that I did not provide specific directions to the property; I did make the assumption that by providing the exact property address would led you to google the directions; I have never provided guest with specific directions whether they are walking, driving, took the train or flew in. I certainly would have addressed any issue(s) that you had with the property while you were staying but you brought nothing to my attention. I hope that you enjoyed the beautiful Nation’s Capitol.

Overall Nice
It was super clean and in a super nice neighborhood. It was too hot for me to sleep most of the time. But at home I have to have the thermostat at 62. . . I’m not like most people. We set the AC unit at 64 but I think it was 70 in there— which is hot for me. Bed dips so it’s a bit of a struggle for two people. If those things don’t bother you, then you’re in for a great treat!!

Roydell was very communicative with me. I had asked to drop my bag off as my flight was supposed to arrive around 11am, they said it was good and would have been very convenient had my flight not been delayed. I enjoyed the stay. The street itself is very quiet but it's a bit out of the way for public transit, you have to take transfers to get anywhere. But there is the DC streetcar and some buses a block away on H St. overall great place, would stay again

Small but very accomodating
This property was in a perfect location for us, only minutes away from the people we were visiting. It is also close to several restaurants and stores. It's a basement property that has a living room with a kitchenette, a bedroom, and a bathroom. For the two of us it was more than adequate and very comfortable. The owner had bottled water waiting for us as well as several snacks (which we appreciated). The place was clean and orderly. We'd definitely stay there again.

great place for quick business trip
The apartment was very clean and well appointed with an abundance of accoutrement. Perfect for my quick solo business trip. Thank you, Roydell, for the microwave popcorn when I desperately needed it during my late afternoon zoom calls. There was a fancy Kuerig and lots of coffee. As with most DC brownstones and english basements, bring earplugs! Sirens and trucks are a fixture. Roydell was very responsive immediately and accomodating, which is always a bonus.

Basement life
This basement turned apartment is a nice little place to stay. Its only a couple of blocks away from decent food places and about a mile away from the supreme court. It is relatively quiet, we only heard people moving up stairs a couple of times. The bed is very comfortable and the place is clean. The only things we had issues with is that a couple of the outlets appeared to be burnt out, we avoided those, and the shower water temperature was very hot and not easily to control. There is a washer/dryer in one in the apartment, as far as we saw you can only use the dryer if you run a wash cycle first, which is not normally a big deal but we got soaked one day and was hoping to dry our jackets. The host had some snacks, water, and coffee for us. Overall it was a very nice place to stay and i would stay there again.

Great Location
It's a nice, clean basement apartment for two people. The apartment is short walking distance to grocery stores, restaurants, and public transportation. The neighborhood was great for taking walks. I had access to rental bicycles and scooters. The owner was upstairs, if I had any issues. The bed was not as comfortable as I prefer. However, I enjoyed my week stay. I would choose the apartment again.

Overall we we happy with the apartment. Communication with the property manager was excellent. He left snacks for us and bottles of water. Refrigerator and microwave in kitchen. Little living room area, bedroom and bathroom. The heaters didn’t work all that well. They took the edge off, but didn’t get the place warm enough. If you don’t come with a car, this is a great option. But we drove from out of town to find that all street parking is “two hour parking” til 8:30pm weekdays. We knew there was no reserved parking spot with this reservation but we assumed street parking would not be a problem.

My daughter and I landed a little earlier than check in so I messaged the owner and ask if we could just drop our suitcases until check in, and he agreed when we got there. The cleaning crew just finished up because she knew we were coming early. Very helpful And accommodating. The place was very clean and updated. We lacked for nothing and was in an area where it was pretty close to most things very convenient. I would stay again and recommend this place to anyone that was visiting Washington DC.

Nice rental, convenient to H St and Union Station. It was clean and quiet. Nice to have the owner on site, he responded quickly to my only concern. Some of the headers in the apt are low. Probably not a good choice for anyone over 5'10".

Cute place.
The check in was rocky, poor communication with manager. Owner of the property ended up showing us how to get in. Bit once we were in it was really nice. The bed was comfy. It was well stocked with everything you could need. The futon is awful. It was so uncomfortable just to sit on, I can't imagine sleeping on it. Parking was a pain. Over all it was a good stay and we enjoyed the property.

Clean place. Does have moisture absorbers in every corner. Would have been nice to see a pic of the actual entrance door, instead of the upstairs home door. It's a tight squeeze with many steps for an older person. (I've never stayed in a place like this so maybe others know this already?) Great communication by property manager. Many amenities including free snacks and water. Absolutely a positive experience! Thank you.

Clean and close to downtown DC.
We got to DC early and weren’t suppose to be able to check in till 4, called the owner and he let us check in early. It is close to H Street that is full of restaurants, scooters, trolley and buses. Would definitely stay there again!!

The space is the lower level of the house. Bed was very comfortable, shower was really nice. The kitchen had microwave but no cooktop. Host provided snacks and bottled water which was so appreciated. Huge TV in the living room, and futon bed. Location is close to metro bus stops and there is a metro rail bus that you can ride free from H St to Union Station.

Good Location - Good Apartment
We enjoyed our week in this apartment. It fit our needs as a home base for our DC trip. Many restaurants nearby and only a 1.5 mile walk/run to the Supreme Court and Capital. We felt safe in the neighborhood. It has a community feel to it. It's a cozy apartment and fitting more than three people in would be rough. Two felt perfect. We'd stay here again, without a question.
