This place was great. Nice charm. I put my TV production crew up here and even with us arriving late, Keith, the host was super accommodating, attentive to our needs and very helpful. He even allowed us to shoot an interview on site. Glad I found this.

Loved tis bed and breakfast. Keith was the perfect host. Staying here was a nice change from the usual hotels. I would definitely recommend it to anyone. And will definitely stay again when in the area.

Relaxing holiday
Kieth was very friendly to welcome us and brief a bit about the hotel and the surrounding attractions. It was a comfortable place to stay and the breakfast was freshly out of the kitchen. The distance to the museums was more than a 30 minutes walk.

Kevin and his team did an excellent job on making our stay enjoyable. The breakfasts were top notch, with a nice variety each day. The room was large and well kept with everything working as it should. We arrived quite late the first night and Kevin was there to meet us and carry our bags to the room. Super bed and breakfast
I was staying at a hotel in Arlington the first two nights in the DC area but moved the last night to Mt. Vernon. The innkeepers were superb in their service and providing information, the room (I had the Terrace with the separate bathroom which was fine) was excellent and had its own outside porch, and the location was convenient to the mall, Union Station, the metro etc. I would definitely recommend and go back to Mt. Vernon Square Bed and Breakfast.

I have never stayed at a B&B in the city. I always think of it as a 'getaway' from the hustle and bustle, but it was a very nice retreat. The owner was personable, the house was beautiful and the accommodations were great. I would definitely stay there again!

Keith was awesome, breakfast was amazing, and it was a comfortable cozy place. We loved the Cleopatra room and the GIANT tub with the stained glass window towering above it. My son loved that they had board games available and we spent every evening playing them! Probably my most cherished memory of our trip to DC!

I'll Stay Here Every Time I'm in DC
This was one of the best hotel/B&B stays I've ever had. The B&B as a whole, and the room specifically, is clean, beautiful, charming, and very comfortable ... an 1870s building that has been wonderfully restored and maintained. It is about a 10 minute drive/cab ride from the government buildings (Congressional offices, Lincoln Memorial, the Mall, the White House). Keith, the owner and operator, is friendly, accommodating, personable, and genuinely interested in your enjoyment of your stay. There are no details overlooked. There are plenty of local food delivery options. The morning breakfast is excellent home cooking, beautifully presented (in a stunning dining room), and plentiful. The lady who prepares and serves the breakfast is friendly and very pleasant. Simply put, this was just a great hotel experience, at half the price of the major chain hotels in the area (Hilton Garden Inn, etc.), and far more personal and pleasant. I highly recommend trying the Mt. Vernon Square B&B.

Great solution to the hustle & bustle of DC
We were only in DC for less than 24 hours while visiting friends, but it was lovely to stay at this little B&B tucked away in DC. The place was gorgeous and very clean; the only reason I rated the comfort level a little low (OK) was because my husband had a hard time sleeping on the super firm mattress, and the city sounds kept him awake. But obviously the sounds can't be helped. Breakfast was great and the owner was kind. Highly recommend!

Keith and Glenda our hosts were accommodating, friendly and helpful in every way. We are planning on returning here again in the future and we plan to stay in the Cleopatra suite. The Copper suite we stayed in had everything we needed and a little balcony under a huge oak tree. Great for couples! You will certainly enjoy this beautiful historic home!

We stayed at MVSBB over the fourth of July 2017. Located on the corner of M street NW and 4th, it is about a 12 block walk to both the National Mall and the White House. There is also a Metro station (subway) three block down at M Street and seventh. We chose to Uber most of the time. Getting an XL Uber for the whole family to the monuments cost us around $11 a trip. Let's start with Keith, the innkeeper. What a great guy. We were greeted with wine and beer, shown around the home, given a little history, shown to our rooms, and given detailed maps of the area along with recommendations for food and nightlife. We had the home all to ourselves. Keith gave us his personal cell number and was incredibly responsive whenever we needed him. We booked the Bombay Suite. This has two separate rooms adjoined by a door and a bathroom. The bathroom is quite nice, and both rooms had one king bed and lots and lots of space, as well as a refrigerator in the main room and a tv in each room. The beds were to our liking as well. The Bombay room is located right at the top of the first set of stairs. Breakfast is at 8:30 each morning in the formal dining room. Started with individual bowls of fruit, followed by eggs, grits, French toast, waffles, sausage, or whatever else may be on the menu that day. Fresh juice and coffee as well. On our last morning we were unable to make 8:30 breakfast. The staff arrived early and fed us at 7:30 to make sure we ate. We will return to MVSBB

DC visit
This was our first experience with a B&B and our stay was excellent. The owner met us upon our arrival, explained the setup and where to find things in the surrounding area. He was very helpful and answered any of our questions. Each morning's breakfast was outstanding and plentiful. It was a great way to start the day of touring the city's sites. We would stay here again.

Great hospitality!!! Beautiful historic B and B. Breakfast was delicious. Close enough to walk to Mall area but we chose UBER due to weather and age of my companion. Great price for the area. Parking very limited and could be an issue. Would definitely stay again!

Relaxing overnight convenient to seeing the sites
Stayed here for one night before moving to my work hotel. Dropped off my bags early (before noon) and did some site seeing - walked through Chinatown to the national mall for museums and over to the Eastern Market. Very central with restaurants and shopping nearby. Room was beautiful, comfortable and spacious. The staff (the owner) were very helpful. The delicious breakfast (family style) was a plus. I hope to stay here again.

19th Century Charm with a 21st Century Convenience
A great find in a great city. Other than the urban noise, this was an outstanding little gem in the Nation's capital. Charming yet modern, antiques with the comforts of 21st Century needs, Mount Vernon Bed and Breakfast was a marvelous experience. The caretakers did everything that they could to make the stay memorable and enjoyable. Great food and company. I will return

A Great Choice
My wife and I had a wonderful time at Mt. Vernon B&B. The location was about as good as one could get without paying big dollars for a high-end hotel. We were easily able to walk to the Smithsonian and back. Keith, the owner, was welcoming and helpful. Parking was easy and convenient (although limited in the number of spots). We highly recommend this spot.

We were a group of 4. The Copper Room has an attached bathroom, so one couple used this. It's several blocks from the train station, which was fine with us on arrival from airport. After that, we used Uber for every trip and for our group, it was VERY price effective. The innkeeper (Keith) was an awesome resource for recommendations in dining and touring!

Fantastic B&B
Mt. Vernon Square Bed and Breakfast was amazing! We stayed over Presidents' Day weekend and were blown away by all of Keith's personal touches. The breakfast each morning was incredible, and our room was very comfortable. The location was perfect for walking to museums and monuments. We also really appreciated Keith's excellent restaurant recommendations. I've already recommended it to friends and family.

B&B central to DC
I stayed here in Feb while attending a conference at the WEWCC - DC's large convention center. It is located one block from where 395 ends at New York Ave, about a dozen blocks from Union Station (Amtrak), and four short blocks from the convention center. Since I arrived by train, there was no need for car, taxi, or uber. The B&B is in what NYC would call a brownstone and is attractive from the exterior. Some parking on-site (very reasonable cost for city parking), but ask before assuming. The interior is interestingly more modern than the exterior, but is pleasantly relaxing and quiet. The upper 2 floors have ~ 4 rooms each (mine had a bath), Rooms are huge, clean, comfortable, had some antiques (accent tables), plenty of storage, fridge/microwave/Keurig, writing desk, large closet. Bath was well-appointed, and shower had one heck of a lot of spray heads. Breakfast was at 8:30, and seemed pretty standard for a B&B...better than hotels, certainly. I enjoyed the stay, and would return at any time, if my travels brought me to the vicinity.

Innkeeper Keith went out of his way to provide power for charging my Tesla, then welcomed me with a glass of wine. Accommodations were great, but the high points were the hearty breakfasts accompanied by engaging conversation. We had a memorable experience. I highly recommend this B&B.

We've reserved the room (room type: room, terrace), and only when we checked in we understood, that our room is not connected to the bathroom, At the same time we received a letter from the hotel in which they informed us that we have reserved the Terrace Room. Quote of this letter: "You have reserved the Terrace Room (3rd floor). It's PRIVATE BATHROOM (2nd floor) is NOT connected to the room. It's DOWN A FLIGHT OF STAIRS." Convenient and accommodating.
I had an outstanding stay. I'm so glad I stayed here instead of a conference hotel. Keith was welcoming, friendly and helpful. I was able to drop off my bags/check-in early and leave my bags down stairs after checkout until I left town. They have a set family-style breakfast at 8:30, but since my conference started at 8, they let me schedule an early breakfast. I was told it would be a "simple" breakfast. I'm not sure what they serve at 8:30, but the meal at 7:30 was plenty, and excellent (fresh fruit, eggs, toast or croissants, coffee juice, yogurt) The only downside to this property is the temperature. I think the windows are a bit older and drafty, so it's chilly by the windows, warm everywhere else. However, it wasn't bad and certainly worth it. I stayed in the Bombay suite because that's what showed up in my search and was available the dates of my stay. It was just me, so I didn't even use the second bedroom and never made use of the jetted tub. Hopefully, I'll be back and actually spend some time in the room/on the property instead of just sleeping there (and eating breakfast).
