About this property

Sojourn 1 Block to Metro, Cap Hill Garden Flat

  • Summary:

Sojourn proudly offers this charming 2BR/2BA boho garden apartment in historic Capitol Hill, 1.5 blocks to Potomac Ave Metro. 8.5' ceilings, full-size windows, wood floors & historic doors make it bright and inviting, with a modern full-size kitchen. Bedrooms & baths sit at opposite ends for privacy, open living/dining/kitchen between. Updated baths, W/D, central A/C & shared garden with wisteria seating. Covered parking + EV charger available for a fee.

    The Space:

    Your Capitol Hill Garden Retreat

This is your own private space—not a shared apartment. You’ll have full use of a separate, fully furnished 2-bedroom, 2-bath garden apartment tucked into our historic Capitol Hill home. It’s a relaxed, colorful little retreat with plenty of character, while putting some of the best of DC right outside your door.

We’re just 1 block from the Blue, Orange & Silver Metro lines, making it incredibly easy to explore the city without a car. Around the corner is The Roost, a lively culinary clubhouse with restaurants, cocktails, coffee and a beer garden. Safeway is about 4 blocks away, and a leisurely 10-minute walk takes you to Eastern Market, neighborhood restaurants, cafés, bars, parks and the weekend market.

The U.S. Capitol, Supreme Court, Library of Congress and U.S. Botanic Garden are just 2 Metro stops away—or a lovely 15–20 minute walk through Capitol Hill. The Smithsonian museums and many of DC’s monuments are 4–6 stops away on the same Metro lines. In the other direction, stroll or bike to The Yards, the waterfront and Nationals Park, about a mile away.

    The Apartment

Although technically a lower-level apartment, it doesn’t have the feel of a typical basement. 8.5-foot ceilings, full-size windows in the front, hardwood floors and beautiful historic doors give it warmth and character.

The layout is one of our favorite things about the space. The bedrooms and bathrooms are at opposite ends of the apartment, with the living, dining and kitchen areas in between—giving couples, families and friends traveling together a surprising amount of privacy.

The back bedroom has a queen bed, while the front bedroom has a full bed plus a twin. You’ll also have a fully equipped kitchen, two renovated bathrooms, central A/C, in-unit full-size washer & dryer, dining area, TV with streaming capabilities, comfortable linens and everything you need to settle in and feel at home.

The apartment is most comfortable for 4–5 guests. We can occasionally accommodate 6 with advance approval, but we think the space is at its best with 5 or fewer.

Step outside to your own covered breezeway, and you’re also welcome to enjoy our shared backyard and brick patio, with a wisteria-covered seating area and grill. It’s a leafy little respite after a day of sightseeing.

Live a Little Like a Local

One of the best parts of staying here is getting to experience the neighborhood as well as the monuments. Capital Bikeshare is just a block away, and Capitol Hill is wonderful to explore on foot or by bike.

Spend a weekend morning wandering Eastern Market, where the historic market hall is joined by farmers, artists, antiques, flea-market finds and local food vendors. Grab dinner or a drink at The Roost, picnic along the waterfront at The Yards, catch a Nationals game, or simply wander the historic streets and beautiful rowhouses of Capitol Hill.

For guests staying a little longer—or anyone who doesn’t want to give up their workout routine—OneLife Fitness Capitol Hill is also nearby in a beautifully converted historic school, with day passes available.

You’ll be close enough to easily experience the Washington everyone comes to see, while staying in a real Capitol Hill neighborhood with historic character, great food, green spaces and a little boho personality of its own.

Every Sojourn home is thoughtfully curated to deliver a seamless, high-end experience: round-the-clock support via text, email, or phone – artisanal coffee, plush towels, and premium bath essentials – effortless self check-in – fully appointed kitchens – luxurious linens – and ultra-fast WiFi.

The heart of the neighborhood is Eastern Market, a beloved institution where locals gather on weekends for fresh produce, artisan goods, and a true sense of community. Stroll Barracks Row for an impressive lineup of restaurants and boutiques, or explore the neighborhood's many parks and green spaces perfect for an afternoon unwind. With the Library of Congress, Supreme Court, and the National Mall all within easy walking distance, you'll have unparalleled access to the best of D.C.'s history and culture
