"Lovely spot. Great room. A little smaller but perfectly furnished. Great Cafe downstairs! Bar was closed when I visited, but I will be back and hope to see it in full swing. Perfect distance from Newtown bars/food."

The Erko Hotel

"This was a 2 night stay. A last minute trip to go to shows at The Enmore & at the Opera House. Reasonably easy to access from Central Station, but I'd recommend the walk from Erskineville station. ( Google maps took me to Newtown Station which was a more complex route) The staff are all welcoming and friendly. Easy check in at the bar, & you receive a drinks voucher for either the Erko bar or Fleetwood Macchiato across the road 😘 It's a hotel: there are steps to the accommodation area The room was clean and comfortable. There are multiple bathrooms, so always a toilet or shower free when needed. There's also a kitchen, so boomers like me can make their porridge and earl grey first thing. I stayed during the early stages of the soccer World Cup, so the bar was super busy in the evening. It's a dog friendly venue. All the rooms are named after local doggy identities. Just be aware not to tread on anyone's tail after lunch. A short walk to the Enmore for shows. Very close to King Street for all the shopping and transport offerings there. Erskineville train station is a few hundred metres away & Newtown train station is an easy walk too. This was a really fun stay."
