Great location.
We stayed at Santi, 6 adults, one child. We booked the entire property for two weeks.
The location is wonderful, you are right on the beach and in close proximity to both Weligama and Mirrisa.
The bedrooms have good AC to cool you down in the heat. The beds are comfortable with good pillows.
You have ample space in the property for guests. The housekeeper was my favourite, he was so helpful with questions we had, knowledgeable and very great sense of humour.
Unbeknownst to us we were staying over the Sri Lankan new year, so he showed us the local customs during that week and treated us to some traditions.
There are some things that need to be addressed and fixed in the property if they want to charge people the money they are asking for. Firstly, the shale tiles around the swimming pool (and in the pool) are broken or missing, many of my family either cut their feet/toes or stubbed them, these need to be fixed.
Hot water only works best in the mornings, it doesn’t seem to work at night.
Kitchen induction hob to cook on doesn’t allow you to cook things properly simultaneously, you have to divide the power between two if you want to cook two things at once. We as a family love to cook, so found this limiting.
Drains in the bathrooms require cleaning, upstairs left bedroom bathroom shower wasn’t draining properly and we cleaned it ourselves.
Leak in the downstairs bedroom basin coming through the wall. Wet floors tiles under the day bed in the downstairs bedroom which means damp is coming through the wall.
Stagnant water in the koi pond outside/inside the house is a breeding ground for mosquitoes. I would highly recommend bringing mosquito spray with you.
While there is a housekeeper, this property would benefit from having a house cleaner daily, many surfaces were dusty and lots of gecko poop on stuff. The property would need a cleaner daily to be able to appease global client’s expectations.
Ants will get into everything, so I’d recommend better containers for the sugar.
With all the cons, these are things that can be fixed with regular maintenance.
This home is beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there.
