The Getaway - Wi-Fi - Pet friendly - New Deck
Take a break & unwind in this A-Frame cabin, bordering 45 acres of woods with a new private extended deck. This rustic log cabin is rural & an escape from busy city living. 2.6 miles to Cave Run Lake and the National Boone Forest. Short drive to the Red River Gorge.
This is a “cabin in the woods” experience, it is not a luxury hotel or resort. A forest setting: ladybugs, birds, other tiny critters, the occasional deer, fox, raccoon, & dog can be found amongst the trees, grass & sunshine. Time spent here is unique & memorable.

Cute and cozy cabin, nice place to stay. It's on a one lane, two way road with hills which can make it a little sketchy to negotiate oncoming traffic. There is a musty smell on the main floor. The back deck has an unsafe railing so be careful if you have children back there.Otherwise a good place to stay.
Enjoyed celebrating our 8 year wedding anniversary together as a family in this secluded cabin. Was a short drive to cave run lake and had many memories made in Kentucky and can’t wait to come back
The cabin was located close to Cave Run Lake and also a Dollar General store. It was exactly as listed and perfect for our family. Communication with the owner was great as well.
Great stay! Pet friendly, however you just have to be aware of the neighborhood dogs who roam free. They were really sweet and just wanted pets but our dogs are small so we were just careful.
nice place in a quiet neighborhood. 30 mins from everything we were there to fo and see. Definitely away from all the traffic people. if im out that way again ill be looking for this place again
Nice accommodations. The heating and cooling works really well. You can make that place be whatever temperature you want very quickly. Plenty of hot water, well furnished, good layout, comfortable beds, and nearly instant communication from the property manager. Noah was not only responsive but very friendly. We had a great time.
It was a nice peaceful place to stay with my two grown sons. We enjoyed Red River Gorge. I would definitely recommend this place and would come back again.
This is a cute little cabin in rural Kentucky. It was a convenient location for our purposes. Our kids enjoyed the balconies on both floors. Wifi was easy to connect. Kitchen had plenty of cookware. We had an enjoyable stay!

Quite getaway
Cabin is located in a quite neighborhood but had quite a bit of abandoned cabins close by. The inside of the cabin was nice and comfortable. Close to longbow marina. It was a great time.

It was ok, just not what we expected from the listing. Not lakefront at all. Top deck access locked. "New" deck was not built correctly and is unsafe. No soap in bathroom. Not on amount of acreage expected; neighbors are close by. Neighborhood dogs run off leash and will try to get in house.
Place was just as described/pictured. Clean and air conditioners kept the place cool. Only one room upstairs has an air conditioner so bedroom doors need to be kept open to allow both rooms to remain cool.
If traveling with pets, be aware of neighborhood dogs (one specifically visited the house a few times) that run loose. The dogs were friendly but unfortunately, our dog is not so it made taking our dog for bathroom breaks a little difficult at times.

Could be better
The biggest thing was the air conditioning. It has a window unit upstairs and one downstairs. The other bedroom upstairs does not have ac. The beds are also pretty firm. The porches on the back are very flimsy also. Do not let kids out there alone. Also there were dogs around the house a few times from the neighbors house. We had to keep our dogs very close while outside. When we go there we found a half eaten pizza in the fridge. The cabin got the job done, but definitely could have been better.

If we were able to give no stars we would. It was filthy. The bedsheets obviously had not been changed as they were full of dog/cat hair. We attempted to wash things ourselves, but the washer did not work so we went to the Dollar General store and purchased things. Had we not been 5 1/2 hours from home, with no hotel availability nearby, we would have left. Interesting that a tip jar sits out for cleaning service. They may want to change sheets, fix the advertised appliances, and scrub the filthy kitchen floor, if they expect tips. Would NOT recommend staying here.
This property was nasty. Rat dropping every where. Went to upstairs to check out the beds, rat dropping on top of covers, on top of the sheets, sheets had dirt all over them. Pillows had droppings on them. Cleaned kitchen up some, went to Walmart to get a blow up bed to sleep in the living room, came back and there were more droppings when we came back. And the kicker… the “cleaning tip jar” had rat droppings in it!! So gross. We decided to leave. Tried to contact owner. They never responded. This place had not been cleaned in months. I don’t recommend this place. Period.

The place as decent but not as close to RRG as I expected. The neighbors were also a little off. Immediately upon arrival a neighbor pulled up in his truck while his dog was in a line outside running along the truck, almost getting wrapped around poles and mailboxes. He proceeded to trash talk us about where we were from, then another neighbor lets his 2 dogs run loose all the time so everytime we came and left we had to watch that we were not going to run the dogs over. They also tried getting in the house and my truck everytime the door was open. The back porch was skeptical at best. I'm not an overly big man however the boards bowed when I stepped out on it so a did not sit outside to enjoy the nature landscape. Another weird thing that happened, the 1st night while laying in bed i heard a very obviously male voice say 'Hey there' and i know it ws not my very female fiance All in all, it was budget friendly but definitely not what I thought I was paying for. I would've spent a little more money to have a more comfortable and inviting arrival and stay.

Read before renting.
This house is not worth the price. The toilet seat was broken, coffee pot broken, mattress looked to be from 1950 and very very stained up box springs and mattress . Sink in bathroom did not work. Had to use a spoon to hold drain open. Shower leaked all over floor. Deck was filthy and no place to sit. Grill looked gross and never cleaned. Dog hair/ cat hair all over floor that was immediately all over clothing and socks. Keep in mind there is no other hotel for over an hour away so we HAD to stay here. After arriving. This house needs a good cleaning. It is in a very sketchy area. House across street has loud barking dogs and trash everywhere. There was a tip jar for cleaning. I left no tip but had many. Start with basic house keeping because this place is filthy
This was a great place to crash on our journey to the Red River Gorge. Not much going on at the house itself, but it served its purpose very well. Wi-Fi was great, all of the streaming services and on demand tv. Overall we were quite pleased. Owner was very easy to communicate with and was very kind.
