What a great place for the avid angler or the family looking for a quiet get away. This fully restored cottage has a large, private yard perfect for relaxing and features 200+ ft of frontage on Flowage lake, which is famous for it's pike and bass fishing. Also included is frontage on the West Branch of the Rifle River for some of the best trout fishing in the state. A canoe and 3 kayaks are available for guest's use at no charge. When not enjoying the lake and river, you can entertain yourself with the pool table, Foosball table or other games included in the walk out basement. Other amenities include a lake side deck, a river side patio with outdoor fireplace, BBQ grill, washer and dryer, 3 televisions, and central air conditioning. The town of West Branch features great shopping including a Walmart and a Meijers store, a Dunhams Sporting goods store, and a ridiculous number of terrific restaurants, many of whom will deliver right to your door.

Echoes of past friends-and-family gatherings resonate in this updated yet still rustic cottage on the edge of a lovely lake and flowing river. It's easy to understand why generations of the owner's family have enjoyed this fish camp site. Do not expect five-star hotel accommodations here--rather a place that shows that many have been here before. There is no dishwasher, so expect to handwash everything you use before and after. The cooler weather did not allow us to get out on the lake, but we loved the view every day--instead we enjoyed the warmth of the outdoor fireplace and the comfy indoor furniture and game room for places to relax and have some fun. Allen was very responsive to my messages and seems to take care of issues that may occur. I hope to stay here again during future visits to my home town.
I suggested renaming it Mirror Lake on this perfect day.

Wonderful place and location…if you are fishing, definitely check the seasonal limitations/ rules on the river with regards to closings on parts of the river for fishing.

Great Setting

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cabin was clean and thoughtfully appointed. Great fishing on the lake, caught several 37 inch pike! Close to town, but very quiet and secluded.

Great Family Trip

Our group of 7 stayed for a week and we had so much fun. Even the non fishermen found plenty to do! The game room was a great way for the adults and teenagers to spend the evenings together. The lake is very peaceful and the house is very clean and comfortable.

Our family vacation at "Fish Camp" was wonderful, blending comfort and adventure seamlessly. Nestled by a serene lake and dam, we caught many small fish, and explored the calm lake by kayak. So convenient having shopping & restaurants nearby. The cottage is itself was a cozy & clean, providinuneveryone.

Great Stay!

Fish Camp was Great!!

We really enjoyed this place! Very clean, looked freshly painted , nice furniture, AC was much appreciated! The host thought of many details and supplies which made it very comfortable ! Kitchen was very well stocked. We loved the fishing -caught a big 20” pike right off the front grassy area! Kayaks were great, very close to golf courses. We would definitely stay here again!

Vacation on the water

Clean, lots of room. Dinning room with a great view of the water. Relaxing atmosphere. Plenty of room outside. Close to town but not too close. Nice game room. I would book again.

Long Weekend at Fish Camp

Fish Camp is a charming little cottage in a peaceful setting on the lake. The property owner was very responsive while booking our stay and flexible with allowing us to check-in early--much appreciate! We suspected we may have been the first to stay this season as the cottage smelled VERY musty when we first entered, and there wasn't shampoo, conditioner or body soap available in the second floor bathroom. We opened windows to air it out, and the musty smell dissipated within a few hours but it was disappointing to be hit with that when we walked in. The box of coffee K Cups in the pantry was completely empty. We made a quick trip to the store to pick up the missing items we needed for our stay. The property was clean and conveniently located to all the locations we needed to visit in West Branch for a family wedding, so, overall, it was a pleasant stay.

Father's Day Outing

Perfect fathers day getaway. Great grandpa and grandson fishing experience. Very comfortable setting with walkout patio between the basement and the stream. Nice place to hang out early and enjoy your coffee and some reminiscing. The table stream side is handy. Definitely awesome views of the lake and wildlife.

Weekend fishing getaway

Really enjoyed our stay at the comfy, clean as a whistle, Fish Camp! The home is very well stocked, and in such a private, peaceful area, you really feel like you're away from it all. My husband caught a large pike from the shore, which was fun for him, as well as smaller bass and perch that we caught and released. We would definitely stay there again.

Peaceful, relaxing and great value

Good fishing and very nice location, far enough away from the freeway not to hear traffic, but just minutes away from downtown. The game room downstairs is great for evening family gatherings and rainy day activities. Good hiking and shopping in the area. Definitely keep the private property chain across the driveway though, as some locals assume it is a public lake access.

Cool House

Fish Camps was cool. The view of the lake was awesome especially at night. The house was exactly as advertised. It was well stocked and had plenty of towels, blankets, etc. It was comfy and the basement had all kinds of fun stuff going on. We would come back for sure!

Best of both worlds

The property was amazing you have the best of lakefront, views and river front. Listening to the dam and river was so relaxing, the lake is also very calm and the views are really nice. Fishing was amazing we caught largemouth bass, rock bass, and brown trout in the river we even cooked the fish over the fire. The house was cozy everyone had enough space (this was nice especially with 3 young adult sons). My sons especially enjoyed the basement pool table later in the evenings. House is very equipped and clean. Property is private one of the best home rentals I have booked for a holiday weekend.

Mom's Getaway

We really had a great time! We enjoyed the game room and it was close enough to the places we wanted to go. We did choose not to go swimming as the water didn't look very inviting. It is called fish camp though, not swim camp. Instead we drove to the beach. We enjoyed the kayaks and watching the wildlife outside. We were a bit surprised by the amount of goose poop in the yard. After a little clean up we had a clear path though. Having 2 bathrooms was a huge plus as well! We really appreciated that our host was very good about responding quickly when we had questions. We enjoyed our stay at fish camp.
