If it's your first time travelling during COVID-19, you'll notice new rules and standards in place. Take note of these tips and make your journey to West Coast Tasmania a smooth one:

• Research if any travel restrictions apply to your destination and origin before booking anything. Also check if there are any special conditions you'll have to follow on arrival, such as testing and quarantining.
• Wear a face mask even during airport screening. A TSA employee will require you to lower your mask temporarily to verify your identity.
• To avoid cross-contamination, place your boarding pass on the reader yourself and then hold it up for inspection. Do not hand your boarding pass directly to a TSA employee.
• TSA is now permitting passengers to take one container of hand sanitizer, up to 12 oz (350 ml) in size, in carry-on luggage. This will have to be removed from your bag for X-ray scanning.
• Empty your personal items from your pockets, like your wallet and phone, and put them in your carry-on rather than the bins. This will reduce handling during the screening process.
• Separate any food you have for X-ray screening. Putting it in a clear plastic bag and into a bin reduces the need for a TSA employee to handle and inspect your belongings.

As travel restrictions start to lift, most airlines are back in action with new measures including social distancing and an increased supply of face masks, gloves and sanitizer. Here's what some carriers are doing to ease the spread of COVID-19:
