Unwind, Recharge, and Give Thanks in the Carolina High Country @ AbsoluteHigh

West Jefferson, NC - A short-5 minute drive will take you to downtown restaurants, breweries, galleries, the Cheese Factory, antique malls, Jefferson State Park, and Frosty’s Choose and Cut. This cabin is perfect for a couple or a small family or a girlfriends’ weekend. The cabin is 28 miles to Tweetsie Railroad, 25 miles to Appalachian State University, and 34 miles to the Grayson Highlands (please note all distances are approximate and travel times will vary). For some winter fun, head to one of our three most popular ski resorts: Appalachian Ski Mtn, Sugar Mtn, or Beech Mtn.

The spacious master on main has a queen bed with a Temper-Pedic medium-firm mattress and high-end linens. The bathroom across the hall has a step-in shower, double sinks, and a *whirlpool soaking tub.

On the main floor there is a kitchen fully stocked with everything needed for the chef in the family to cook meals. Coffee lovers will appreciate having a drip coffee maker, a French press, or a Keurig to choose from. The kitchen opens up to the dining space and living room. There is also a propane gas grill on the deck for additional cooking options.

The living room has a beautiful view of the mountains and a gas fireplace for heat and ambiance during the cold months. There is a flat screen TV in this room with basic cable and a ROKU stick for you to access your streaming accounts. Board games, puzzles, and books are available to keep the kids occupied if there is a rainy, stay-in-place kind of day. WiFi speed is at 100mbps for those that need to work or just wish to stream movies.

The main deck, outfitted with plenty of rocking chairs, is the perfect place to enjoy coffee in the morning or a glass of wine at night while watching the sunrise or sunset. You may have sightings of deer or wild turkeys and quail.

Two additional bedrooms are upstairs, as well as a shared bathroom. One room has a queen bed and the most beautiful view of the valley below and the mountain range beyond it. The second bedroom has two twin beds, perfect for children.

The lower level includes a media room with a large flat-screen tv and surround sound. This TV also has a ROKU stick, but the cabin is stocked with many DVDs from which to choose as well. The 2nd side of the basement has been recently finished out to include more heated square footage and seating space. It has a foosball table and a half bath. If you need to do laundry while staying, there is a washer and dryer located on this floor as well.

The cabin is decorated with artwork by local artists, and seasonal décor changes throughout the year. You will find it stocked with a starter supply of toilet paper, detergents, toiletries, and coffee pods. An Ingles grocery store is located only five minutes away for groceries.

Great Views, Cottage and Location

The cottage was very clean and very comfortable. The kitchen was well furnished, but a little cozy for larger groups. Full disclosure, we were there for Thanksgiving and there were 4 Master Chefs (in our own minds) trying to prepare the dinner at the same time (LOL). Anyway... we had a wonderful time, the cabin was lovely, everything in the cabin worked and we had a wonderful time. We would definitely recommend this cabin for a relaxing, comfortable getaway, with wonderful views. and quiet relaxation.

We loved the location and the cabin was well stocked and very nicely decorated. They had put out fall decorations which made it feel so homey. The view from the decks are incredible. The neighborhood is full of deer and we enjoyed seeing them on morning walks with our dog. We had an issue logging in on the TV, but the management company was quick to respond and resolve the issue. Hope to visit again soon!

Unfortunately the weather spoiled our ability to sit on the deck and enjoy the lovely view in the comfy rockers.The gas fireplace was great. Home was very convenient to downtown West Jefferson. We went midweek and found many of the stores and downtown restaurants were closed for various reasons. I believe winter and mid week is a time for renovation and closures for many.But we were fine to cook at the house. But if shopping or eating out is a priority for the renter I would suggest going on the weekend.

Wonderful Views and Neighborhood

I stayed at this beautiful property for 5 days during Christmas and it was just what me and my husband wanted. The views were fantastic and the neighborhood was beautiful, we took walks every day with our Golden Retriever Pup and really appreciated the location. The cabin was extremely clean and ready for us when we arrived. Check in was super easy, the property manager called me the day of our check in and let us know the access code for the door. The only two things I would say I was not super happy with and could be a suggestion for improvement is the Master bathroom shower had really low water pressure, I think if they changed the shower head it would improve the pressure because the other bathroom upstairs had a different shower head and the pressure was way stronger and 10 times better. And the other suggestion for improvement would be the Master Bedroom Bed was really uncomfortable, not sure if the mattress is old or just not the best. I think now always there are good quality king mattresses for under $1,000. They should look into purchasing a new one, the Lull bed is great and inexpensive. To sum up this review I would definitely stay at this property again because overall it is a great property with great views. If your looking for a nice peaceful vacation spot I would definitely choose to stay here. We also did a lot of hiking and activities which were all 45 to 1 hours away and the drive was very enjoyable as your are surrounded by mountains.

This Cabin is within minutes of Downtown West Jefferson to a Variety of Wonderful Shopping and Restaurants. The perfect Christmas cabin

We arrived to snow! The house is located at the top of the mountain and there are gorgeous views from the top of the driveway to the mountains on one side and another expansive, gorgeous view of the mountains and valley stretching out behind the house from the back windows and porches. The house was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed for our stay. Everything was super clean and comfortable and it was the perfect holiday retreat.

Excellent location and access to town. Beautiful home! Beautiful view! Very satisfied with that but the house was not clean. There were dead huge flies all over the floor in the living room. There was black animal hair in the tub down stairs. The bedroom upstairs with queen bed had large flies flying around window. At one time I counted 20. Biggest flies I ever saw. Whoever cleans for you does not do a good job.

We were very disappointed that they did not have the pilot light on the fireplace lite and no gas for the fireplace . We did read after we got there the fireplace was not turned on until 10-1 OK we checked in 9-30 . They couldn’t have handled that before we arrived?? We called the management company and LM. After 5 hours of not hearing from them, we called back..

Great place!

We had a wonderful stay at Absolute High. Small glitch with the fireplace so be sure to ask if gas has been delivered if looking to rent soon. Otherwise, nothing but great things to say-well stocked-very clean and cozy. Would definitely rent here again.
