"Xanadu checks every box. At least for me it does: Peace, comfort, amenities (if you even need them) and a panoramic landscape worthy of the highest quality “clip art”.Heidi and Paul are gracious, reasonable and friendly hosts. If you looked up ‘Escape’ in the dictionary, there could be a picture of this place. The dogs are definitely a bonus. Initially curious and protective. They immediately adopt the guest as ‘family’. Waking up to them guarding you and the owners will add to your natural euphoria that this place provides. Don’t worry if you forgot the book you planned on reading. They’ve got that covered too with a full library. Everyone comes here with a story and a background. Thank you Paul and Heidi for providing whatever we were looking to find."

"The property was fine. Older but adequate. I wasn't happy with Expedia, as the person on staff said that my credit card info was out of date, and she almost gave it to another customer. It was the last room in the motel, so we would have been out of luck! I tried to update my credit card info earlier that day, and thought that it had gone through, but it hadn't. I got no message from Expedia that something was wrong, went there expecting our room to be all ready after a long day's drive, only to find out that we had almost missed out.. Not happy with Expedia!"

We made use of the lobster pots and had a feast to remember. Spent time everyday walking the beach and making to most of time with family. "We found that they thought of everything you might need from dog poop bags to bug spray. We always bring all the supplies we need but forgot bug spray. We were going to run out for some but then saw a can inside the cottage. There were supplies for tea and coffee which you don't often see. We had our own but just seeing all the extras you never expected was nice. There were even some books, games and fishing supplies if you wanted to do any of that. Well thought out for what people staying there might need."

"Pros: - Beautiful location with view on the water, about a 20 minute drive from downtown Antigonish, close to Dunns and Pomquet beaches. - Has all the necessary pots, pans and utensils to cook your own meals - ideal space for a couple or a single person looking for an intimate place to spend a few days. Cons: - Expensive - Loft bed accessible by a ladder that, when in place, blocks access to the bathroom. - Bedding would be greatly improved by adding a comforter and better pillows - Very low ceiling in the shower. If you are over 5'7, it will be rather uncomfortable. - Very small hot water tank - Door can blow open in the middle of the night during stormy periods."
