About this property
Lake Erie Get-A-Way/Log Cabin-view of lake and woods
Log cabin with all the amenities, short walking distance to Lake Erie and view of the lake in the distance from the back deck. Great internet for families that are home schooling or for home jobs. All newly remodeled in 2019. Allergy free/ Pet free, smoke free for those who have allergies to pets or asthma. Located in a sleepy little community of cottages along Lake Erie. Sleeps 5. One bedroom has a double bed with a single overhead and a pull-out trundle. The other bedroom has a double log bed. (2 bedrooms), kitchen, small dining room, living room and bathroom with shower. (Small but all the necessities you will need). The bookshelf has modern reading, magazines as well as children's books. New mattresses, microwave, stove, refrigerator, air, heat. Clean and neat! Drinking water is good to drink, many guests have commented how fresh the water is. There is a game shelf loaded with games for hours of fun for the entire family. "Collect memories-not things." At the boat dock are picnic tables for a bird eyes view of the lake. Launching motor boats are NOT permitted-it is a private dock for the locals. Kayaking is always permitted. Talking about birds, be on the outlook for eagles which frequently fish in the lake. Their nests are located in State Game Lands as well at the Bluffs, and pass by our area every day. There is also an outdoor picnic table at the side of the cottage and a gas grill for outdoor cooking. Back deck has its own round table for outdoor games or picnics. Raccoon creek, Walnut creek and Crooked creek are close by for good fishing. The cabin in located close to the lake in a community of what use to be only summer homes, now transforming into some year round but still some strictly summer homes. The winding dirt road that leads back to the hidden community is a hidden secret for a time of relaxation with your family or a couples get away. New is an outdoor shower-get connected to nature!!! Take a shower while watching the birds fly over!

This was our first vacation to Lake Erie. Lynn met us at the cabin and answered any questions we had about local attractions. We were mainly in the area to visit Presque Isle state park. The cabin was great. Very clean, firepit, gas grill, games, movies etc and we were within walking distance of Lake Erie. If we are in the area again we will definitely rent this cabin.
The cabin was so cozy and clean, made us feel at home, neighbors are super nice, and so much to do in the area! Definitely recommend staying here the place has awesome history it’s just simply amazing ! And beds are very comfortable! Was an awesome stay !
Mac and Lynn are the perfect hosts- very quick to respond to any questions. Lovely cabin, very clean and homey. Enjoyed the large yard and fire pit. Lots of activities nearby- golfed 2 days. The weather was absolutely perfect. Hated to leave.
This little neighborhood has so much charm! We loved the evenings watching the sunset over the lake. The cabin is cozy, clean, and equipped with everything needed to enjoy a vacation. It’s not a far drive to all the amenities of Erie, but there is lots to do closer to the cabin too.
The property and cabin is within 150 yards from the spot where my families original cottage was. My father and uncle had a wonderful time and only had good things to stay about the accomodations.
Thankyou
Padraic
Clean, convenient to restaurants, grocery stores and ice cream shops! Also just a 15-20 min drive to fun activities in Erie. Nice neighborly atmosphere in a woodsy setting. We’re planning to return next year!
Lynn and Mac have created a lovely, warm, newly renovated space. It was the perfect relaxing getaway from Pittsburgh where we could celebrate my son’s 6th birthday. They had everything we needed. Lynn communicated beforehand to give me directions since the GPS location isn’t to the exact house location. We enjoyed hanging out in Erie for a couple of days, which was about 30 min away. Grateful to have this place to connect with family and de-stress.
My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary. Its a cute little cabin with a wonderful outdoor shower as an added bonus. The cabin is minutes from the Ohio border and you can see the lake from the back deck. There are a lot of great things to do in the area. We did the Erie Zoo, Football Hall of Fame, Presque Isle, and the Classic Car Museum. Lynn came to greet us soon after we unpacked. She gave a lot of great recommendations for activities and places to eat in the area. She was very responsive to all of our questions. She lives in the area as well. We felt very comfortable knowing she was nearby if we needed her. Ask Lynn about her about her Eagle pictures!
The cabin was just as described, maybe even better. We loved everything about it. The hosts were super nice and greeted us as soon as we got there. Check in was a breeze and in seconds we were exploring the cabin and the lake. You can see the lake from the swing behind the cabin and it is a short 2 minute walk down the hill to see and experience it all. My wife and I loved sitting in the swing and just enjoying the view. The back patio was perfect for having our breakfast every morning. The beds were very comfy and the cabin was always the perfect temperature. We had a nice bonfire and made s'mores at night and also enjoyed playing Yahtzee in the cabin. They have shelves full of games to choose from. The area is secluded (which we loved) but also only a 10-20 minute drive to shopping, restaurants and even wineries in Ohio. We loved everything about the cabin and the location and look forward to returning as soon as we can.
Stayed here for a few days with my kids and we had an absolute blast! Mac and Lynn were super helpful and super friendly! Would definitely stay here again!
The cabin was adorable, with a beautiful morning view of the lake. We enjoyed drinking our morning coffee on the swing facing the lake, and the fire pit was a nice touch we made sure to put to use with our kids and roasting hotdogs for dinner. Would book again
Perfect lake cabin, the owners thought of everthing. Anything we needed was there. All the electric switches were labled. We walked to the lake and saw a beautiful sunset. Visited the Erie Zoo and toured Presque Isle. In Conneaut we toured several historic covered bridges.
The cabin was exactly as advertised and very clean, the area was quiet and neighbors very friendly. The AC worked great which was appreciated during some very warm days during our stay. Large property with comfortable outdoor spaces. Close walk to the lake for awesome sunset views. Saw numerous deer and fawns, rabbits and woodchucks! Kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils, etc. The hosts were extremely accommodating and friendly. Met them upon check-in and they walked us through cabin specifics. Highly recommend this rental!
Since we are first timers using VRBO I wasn’t sure of what to expect. We’ll, everyone exceeded our expectations. Our experience was a 10+!
Great little cabin tucked away from the hustle bustle of Erie but with- in driving distance to whatever you want to do. So quiet and cozy!
The hosts communicated with us along the way and we’re more than attentive to our needs.
Very enjoyable 1st family vacation for us.
Memorable moments made here!
We walked in to just purchase a Stacyc bike for our son and ended up leaving with the Stacyc AND a Kawasaki 110 R. We have been riding them since we got home and enjoyed the experience and the willingness to see all they could do for us and we are always big on supporting local and will continue to support Carns.
My husband grew up in Erie and spent a lot of time on Presque Isle. Staying in a cabin on Lake Erie seemed like a perfect way to ease into this experience from his past. And it was!
The cabin was fantastic! So comfortable, clean and beautifully made. We spent each morning and each sunset on the patio, porch swing, or down by the boat dock. During the day, we took the half-hour ride into Erie or Presque Isle.
Lynn & Mac were fantastic hosts, and even came over when we first arrived to let us know the mayflies flying around were NOT mosquitoes and we’re harmless—which we were grateful to learn!

Had a nice, relaxing stay but its small
Cottage was just as described. It's old and small but due to the size of the bedrooms could only comfortably sleep a couple and maybe a small child. We had to use the other bedroom for our suitcase as the room with the double bed had no room for one. The bed is literally touching 3 of the 4 walls with only room to stand between the 4th wall and bed. Bathroom was also tight with only a 32-34" shower stall but was fine for us. No TV, radio or alarm clock so I would suggest bringing your own. We brought our own portable DVD player and watched movies. The game shelf was tailored to families with games for more than 2 players. As described in the ad you can see the lake but you are not on it. The lake access is really just a community boat dock which was a tad disappointing. Yard is a great size and our dogs loved it but it's only semi-private as the cottage is in the middle of the housing community and there seemed to always be cars driving by. The location was perfect! 20 minutes from Conneaut OH, 20 minutes from Walnut Creek and 30 minutes from Presque Isle. Tons of local farmers markets and wineries and restaurants to choose from. Overall we had a nice stay but felt for the amenities, size of the cottage and the price we paid we could have found other options for similar price right on the lake with direct lake/beach access.
I will start with the good about this place! The location was perfect, you can see the lake from the windows and there are picnic tables just around the bend that are on the lake as well. The kitchen was well-stocked with pots and pans, it was lovely having a grill and fire pit as well. It’s close to Raccoon creek state park which was also great. The beds were cozy. Unfortunately, the house was decorated with dead bugs. I expect a cabin in the woods to have some bugs inside but there were bugs in the living space, on the walls, hanging from the ceiling, and in the soap dispenser provided in the shower. Additionally, the host showed up unannounced when I first arrived. It was very strange and while she was friendly, everything she said to me was in the manual that I already reviewed. I don’t know if it’s typical for her to show up but it had me on edge the rest of the trip and wondered if I was being watched. This was pretty much confirmed when I received a message from her reminding me of the speed limit after I had driven past some people. I’m assuming they reached out to her to tell me I was driving faster than 9mph (literally that’s the speed limit). This place did not feel welcome to visitors which is a bummer because again the location is lovely.
