'The Hideaway' - Tucked in the Beautiful Wet Mountain Valley.

'Enjoy the special solitude of our high mountain retreat. Access to the San Isabel National Forest is just half mile away, providing hours of exploring by foot or rental horseback riding, ATV, and bicycling. Enjoy the natural beauty of this spot at 8500 feet and in the surrounding mountains where you may see wildlife including elk, deer, bear, fox, chipmunks and birds of many varieties. Then relax in our comfort designed house.

This property is 1 1/2 hours from Colorado Springs Airport and 3 hours from the Denver area and Denver International Airport.
Short trips [under 2 hours] might include: To the north: Antiques in Florence, Golf in Canon City, Rafting & Fishing in the Arkansas River, the incredible Royal Gorge Park or fun in Cripple Creek; To the south: Bishop's Castle, Paddle Boats or Fishing on San Isabel Lake; To the west: The charming town of Westcliffe for groceries and shops, hiking and exploring in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains, wonderful shops and restaurants in Salida and Skiing at Monarch Ski Resort; To the east: Old Pueblo, The Garden of the Gods, fine Dining in Florence or Colorado Springs.

If you prefer you can sit on the front porch or in the back yard and listen to the quiet, read a good book or try to count the million stars in the clearest sky imaginable.

The Hideaway was a beautiful place to stay. Very roomy, full kitchen, a pool table, and many books and puzzles--something for everyone. We found it to be quiet and serene. Enjoyed a hike through the property and especially sitting on the front porch. We were happy there was a garage. Where we live, afternoon rain is often accompanied by rain. Would definitely stay here again.

Amazing Property

This hideaway is exactly as advertised. Its secluded with stunning views on a beautiful piece of land. The cabin itself is in great shape and was immaculate. It’s about a 35 minute drive from Cańon City or a 30 minute drive to Westcliffe. If you’re looking a for a little seclusion and relaxation in a comfortable cabin this is the spot.

Gorgeous and Relaxing

This property is in an absolutely gorgeous area! It was well-maintained and well-stocked with more items than you'll likely need. Everything was clean and tidy, not cluttered. I reached out to the owner only once, and they answered immediately and provided a solution. Would definitely recommend.

Awesome stay.

Beautiful property with everything well stocked. Have a pretty wild drive to get to the cabin from Canon City but it was fun and scenic. Highly recommend this property.

Beautiful Mountain Getaway

We had such a great time on our weekend away. The cabin exceeded our expectations; it was so cozy and clean and had everything we needed. Lots of wildlife and amazing views to take in, and so quiet and peaceful. Highly recommend this location.

Beautiful Secluded Cabin

Comfortable cabin in a beautiful peaceful setting. The scenic drive to & from the cabin was breathtaking. If you desire peace & quiet, this cabin is perfect. We will definitely stay here again as we loved our stay.

Great Getaway!

Great getaway in a secluded area. We enjoyed walking the property and hunkering down in the snowstorm. Hosts were great with communication and we booked last minute with no issues! Would stay again.

Great secluded mountain stay

My gf and I loved staying here! It was very secluded, couldn’t see any neighboring houses unless you walked out on the long driveway. Lots of pine trees and great hiking spots all around. House had everything we needed

Lavonne is the Bomb!

Just loved the stay here. Almost don’t want to say to much because I would like to be able to always schedule here again. The place is beautifully appointed and run by Lavonne and she is awesome. Everything was top notch for a cabin in the woods. We got 3-4 feet of snow while I was there and Lavonne took great care of everything.

Hideaway getaway

Overall the cabin and property is secluded and tucked away in the wet mountains. Cabin has everything you need. The big windows give beautiful views of the surrounding area. Loved sitting out on the deck. The hummingbird feeder gave lots of entertainment as it was very active.

Hideaway is a great name

What a wonderful retreat. Not too close to town, but not too far. Feels like you’re the only ones there. Beautiful scenery, great wildlife (lots of deer), picturesque evening skies. Lovely. Feels like camping but with lots of convenience (kitchen, bed, bath)! Would love to stay again someday.

Perfect Peaceful Mountain Retreat!

Beautiful location with lots of wildlife, such as chipmunks, to enjoy. It is really quiet, silent when the winds were calm. Although there was no cell service, the internet worked great. It was easy to de-stress. The whole family loved it. We hope to come back!

Recharge the ole battery

Thos was an amazing short 3 day recharge for myself. I witnessed the 1st snow of the season here. Being from West Texas, snow is very uncommon. This was absolutely gorgeous to see. The cabin was everything i could have wanted. Cozy and so inviting. Loved the solitude and remote location. It was everything that i needed. I loved this place for sure.

Great time exploring Colorado

This was a great place to stay. Clean,secluded and a good location. Several species of hummingbirds entertained us in the morning. Wish we would have brought a hummingbird feeder! Our only minor issue was the lack of air conditioning, a couple of the nights were pretty warm. The description doesn’t list it as being air conditioned, so we knew that going in. I would highly recommend this place

Awesome cabin off the beaten path

We loved the cabin. Very cute, warm during the night, secluded, and beautiful scenery. Only issue we had was with the Vrbo App, which is not a reflection of the owner. The Vrbo app does not seem to work on the phone and has constant issues. I am only able to leave a review or communicate thru the computer.
