Great location, and small but well stocked and comfortable. We had a power outage the first night, but got it back at 11pm, then was able to use fans and ac
This is a great location and the owner Steve is one of the most communicative and coolest peeps I have ever rented a place from, he made it super super comfortable to get going.
We have a boat and using the cabin boat slip easy peasy. Dock is in a nice location for swimming in the cove.
The cabin is well stocked with just about anything you need and very clean. Appreciated that the unit has a functioning AC that works well as we were there when the fire started.
My family also appreciated that the TVs worked and were super easy to use and stream on which is not always the case with cabin rentals.
I like the location as I enjoy going across the street to the peninsula market for coffee in the morning and being located in Big Cove is always a plus.
Not much to critique here, would def rent from Steve again.

We just spent 3 nights here over the 4th of July. Great location with a market and restaurant across the street. The cabin was cozy, clean and comfortable and had great views of the marina and lake. We would definitely stay here again.
The property was exactly as described. Beautiful views of the lake. Extremely clean and well kept. Walking distance to small store and restaurant. Peaceful little retreat for the two of us.
The cabin was perfect for our stay. The set was great with the bedroom and living area. My husband is an early riser (5:30am even on vacation) and the bedroom is in the back of the cabin away from the living room, so he could get up early and I could sleep.
The kitchen as everything we needed. Although there is a loft we did not use it. The location is great with great view of the lake.
We look forward to coming back next year and staying longer.
My family of 5 enjoyed our week stay at Steve & Emily’s getaway cottage. It is a small private property with 19 manufactured units, very friendly community and excellent views & access to the lake. So relaxing to wake up and enjoy a cup of coffee on the deck looking on the lake hearing the birds and community waking up. Having the private dock and water area really made the stay for us! We brought our 2 stroke fishing boat & paddle board. Used the Knotty Pine marina directly across to get our boat in & out of the water for a fee. Across the main road is a small convenient store, coffee shop and excellent Restaurant. I would recommend buying the bulk of your groceries at a bigger store or bringing them with you to save . Steve was very easy to communicate with and the place was stocked with all your kitchen needs. As they mention bring your sheets, pillowcases, towels, hand towels and beach towels. No laundry is on site but there is a laundromat in Chester or Susanville for a small day trip. Our stay was mid June 2025.
