We had a wonderful stay at Comfort Flames! We stayed for 10 days while visiting family in Whangarei and it was the perfect oasis. The convenience of the room service was unmatched, especially as I am pregnant and have to eat first thing in the morning to not get sick. Raewyn was so hospitable and kind, as were the rest of the staff. The view from our room was beautiful and the aircon made it so comfortable at all times of day. We will definitely stay here in the future and would highly recommend to anyone!

The staff are all very welcoming and friendly and keen to help you with any request . We had room sevice of the beef burger and chips , not to be missed as it was delicious. The property is a little tired and dated, but it’s clean and quiet. We were essentially only there for the night as we went out on a fishing charter during the afternoon / evening. Nice bed and linen - we slept well. Staff were courteous and attentive.

Booked online, but when we arrived the room was already given to someone else. Computer glitch. Booked king bed. Staff accommodated us into a 2 queen room. Room smelt musty and like cigarette smoke. Nice quiet area, we had a little mishap with our car (the window got smashed) and the owners of the hotel were super helpful in temporarily fixing this, the hotel staff looked after us very well whilst we had to make various phone calls. I DO NOT want to deter people from booking this hotel due to the mishap, it happens and the hotel was very friendly to us.

Room was comfortable, warm and clean. Disappointing service though. Initial check in was fine. After being in the room for a bit I went to the front desk and advised that the SKY channels in my room were not working, staff asked what room and said they would come and investigate. No one turned up. Also during check-in, I booked an airport transfer for the next morning, but no one turned up and I had to call a taxi. Almost missed my flight due to the management incompetence.
