We had a wonderful stay at Comfort Flames! We stayed for 10 days while visiting family in Whangarei and it was the perfect oasis. The convenience of the room service was unmatched, especially as I am pregnant and have to eat first thing in the morning to not get sick. Raewyn was so hospitable and kind, as were the rest of the staff. The view from our room was beautiful and the aircon made it so comfortable at all times of day. We will definitely stay here in the future and would highly recommend to anyone!

Holly at the desk and everywhere it seemed did a great job settling me in. Very efficient and friendly. The room was great with a nice view. I thoroughly enjoyed the seafood chowder for dinner.

The staff are all very welcoming and friendly and keen to help you with any request . We had room sevice of the beef burger and chips , not to be missed as it was delicious. Then for breakfast we couldnt resist the cakes which definitely are delicious!It was great to have an area to wash my clothes . Definitely recommended thos place . .

Quiet, kind and peaceful hotel to stay. Nice ocean view from room. Great meal and live jazz music at the restaurant.

Booked online, but when we arrived the room was already given to someone else. Computer glitch. Booked king bed. Staff accommodated us into a 2 queen room. Room smelt musty and like cigarette smoke. This caused asthma and not a pleasant stay. Stairs to get to rooms Shower was great high water pressure and towel rail heaters worked really well.

The property is a little tired and dated, but it’s clean and quiet. We were essentially only there for the night as we went out on a fishing charter during the afternoon / evening. Nice bed and linen - we slept well. Staff were courteous and attentive.

Nice quiet area, we had a little mishap with our car (the window got smashed) and the owners of the hotel were super helpful in temporarily fixing this, the hotel staff looked after us very well whilst we had to make various phone calls. I DO NOT want to deter people from booking this hotel due to the mishap, it happens and the hotel was very friendly to us.

Fine for one night at short notice. Staff were friendly and welcoming. If you arrive after 8, there is not much in the local area for dining options as everything closes pretty early. The place was clean, but expensive for the condition of the property given what we are used to elsewhere for the same price.

Disappointed

Room was comfortable, warm and clean. Disappointing service though. Initial check in was fine. After being in the room for a bit I went to the front desk and advised that the SKY channels in my room were not working, staff asked what room and said they would come and investigate. No one turned up. Also during check-in, I booked an airport transfer for the next morning, but no one turned up and I had to call a taxi. Almost missed my flight due to the management incompetence.

We stay in an executive room during summer every year, as we have friends living in the area. Although a little dated now, it’s always clean and the service is consistently high. Comfortable bed and air conditioning ensures a great sleep.
