Katz Korner is the perfect retreat for couples seeking a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle. Nestled just below the main house at beautiful Simpsons Beach, this thoughtfully furnished studio offers complete privacy and comfort.

The open-plan layout features a luxurious king bed (which can be split into two singles) and a cozy lounge area with plush couches and a flatscreen TV—perfect for snuggling up with a good movie or your favorite show. The full bathroom includes underfloor heating, a bathtub, shower, and toilet for your comfort and convenience.

The kitchenette is equipped with a small fridge, kettle, toaster, and air fryer—ideal for preparing light meals. Prefer dining out? You're just a short drive from Kuaotunu’s renowned Luke’s Kitchen or the vibrant eateries of Whitianga.

Just a 3-minute stroll to the beach (access is about four houses up), you can spend your days swimming, sunbathing, and soaking in the coastal beauty. After a beach day, rinse off in the outdoor shower before settling into your private outdoor seating area—perfect for enjoying a chilled drink or a good book. Small dogs are welcome by request.

The Neighborhood:

Wharekaho is a peaceful spot for a holiday, the beach is simply stunning, and it’s a short drive to Kuoatunu for ice cream or a lunch at Luke’s kitchen. It’s also a short trip to Whitianga, which is a popular holiday destination located on the Coromandel Peninsula. It is the gateway to some amazing beaches and scenery. Wandering the shops is a good start, and if you get a bit peckish, head to one of many delightful eateries, whether it’s a pie and donut, or a sit-down lunch with a cold beverage. There are plenty of options. There is plenty to do for the kids as well, with mini golf, movies, an awesome skatepark and kids’ playground, and of course, there is the Mercury Bay Museum. For adults, a trip to the Lost Springs Thermal Spa and Hot Pools is a great way to spend a couple of hours relaxing in tropical surroundings. If you make your way to the wharf, you can catch the passenger ferry to Ferry Landing & take a walk over to Front Beach. Tour boats also leave from the wharf, which can show you around the area and stop close to Cathedral Cove within the Marine Reserve, watch the fish, go for a snorkel, or take a cave tour. If fishing is your idea of a good time, there are plenty of Charters that can take you out. Or you could take a drive out to Hahei. From here, you can take the 40-minute walk to world-renowned Cathedral Cove, or you can head to the beach, where there is a water taxi that can take you. Hot Water Beach is not to be missed. At low tide, dig a hole and you will have your own hot pool! Spades can be hired from the local store.
