Riverside Romance & Adventure at the Aspen Cabin on the Alta Ranch

"Our goal was to unplug/get away and this is precisely what we found at Alta Ranch. The location 30 mi from the nearest town was exactly what we wanted- peaceful, beautiful, perfect. We enjoyed walking throughout the expansive property- along the river, through the fields and woods- almost as much as we enjoyed just sitting on the porch and soaking in the silence. Cabin had everything we needed - extra pillows & blankets, plenty of bath towels, dishes, knifes, pots/pans as well as a bbq grill with propane- and host also provided all the basic necessities (shampoo, body wash, dish soap, paper towels, etc). Host was responsive and pleasant to work with. I almost don't want to give this a 5 star rating because I want to keep the place our secret so it is always available for our return!!!"

"We stayed in Tin Cup Cabin for a week of fishing in the Bitterroot valley. The basement area served us well as a staging area for all of our equipment and the five bedrooms gave each of us a fine place to sleep. Upon arrival it was discovered that the crew that was running new fiber optic cable had cut the existing internet cable to the cabin. When we texted Dawn she jumped on that immediately and within a day the internet was back up and running. Way to go Dawn!! All things considered we found Dawn to be an excellent host and we hope to be able to return to Tin Cup Cabin. Great views off the deck!!"

"We had a wonderful stay in the Ponderosa cabin. Val was a very helpful host. The beautiful property is central to good hiking, but has plenty of land to explore if you don't want to get back in the car. The cabin itself was well built and adequately stocked. We highly recommend this property."

"The hosts, Dawn and Gerry, were brilliant. The cabin with its history and the eclectic decor was great. The bed was comfortable and all of the little personal touches made it a completely unique place, and totally memorable. Very well provisioned and equipped, with the hot tub adding that special touch. All in all a very memorable place to stay."

"This will likely be the cleanest VRBO accommodation I will ever stay in; my immune system might have been weakened from the experience. The property is so well thought out that it should be used as a template for others in the industry. I chuckled at the plexiglass TV remote holders attached to the armoire; this is how all things are considered for your stay. There is a fire pit, wood burning BBQ, front porch rockers, a tv loft, and a special loft for kids in one of the bedrooms. For proximity to the West Fork and features of the Bitterroot Valley, this is a spot on property for a couple (like we used it) or for a family or two."
