"We stayed at HillHouse Plovdiv for one night before continuing our trip toward the Black Sea, and we would absolutely stay here again! The staff was incredibly kind and helpful from the moment we arrived. They saved a parking spot for our rental car, parked it for us, and helped bring our luggage to the room. The staff was also close to our age, which made their local recommendations especially helpful and relevant. My partner is Bulgarian and speaks the language fluently, while I do not, so I also really appreciated how easily the staff could communicate with both of us in Bulgarian and English. The property is tucked away from the road, making it surprisingly quiet despite its fantastic location. Our room was modern, updated, exceptionally clean, and comfortable. It’s just a short walk uphill to the Ancient Theatre and Old Town, as well as an easy walk to Plovdiv’s city center with tons of shopping, restaurants, and cafés. Complimentary breakfast was included, although we slept too late to try it—definitely something for next time! We had an excellent stay and would 100% recommend HillHouse to anyone visiting Plovdiv."

"Second stay there. Same pluses and minuses. Four star hotel that is really a regular three star by international standards. Terrible parking setup where stalks are not always available to guests and include additional charges. Beds are the most uncomfortable I have ever slept on, so definitely not four star. In the flip side, the place is clean and very centrally located. Those staying there do so because of location mostly. If location is not important, go to a Holiday Inn instead."

"The hotel was centrally located and the price was good. The attention to detail in the furnishings and decorations was beyond impressive. It was a beautiful hotel and our room was very nice. However, this hotel does not accept credit cards, only debit cards. And this was possibly a miscommunication but the dinner was a la carte thereby costing much more than expected. The restaurant is also beautiful The wine and food were good but the service needed improvement."
