Going to the Sun Chalet D/Gateway Chalet
Relax & enjoy panoramic mountain views in a custom designed chalet completed in 2016 just a mile from the west entrance to Glacier National Park. Modern appliances and full kitchen, granite countertops, Deck, patio, BBQ grill, wifi, satellite tv, 3 bedrooms.
The grandeur of Glacier National Park begins four miles north of this comfortable West Glacier vacation condo. A recently completed three-bedroom chalet with beautiful mountain views and all the modern home essentials, it invites your group of up to six for a spirited national park getaway.
Recently completed in 2016, this custom designed home gives you unbeatable access to Glacier National Park, a crown jewel of America`s national park system. Access to this park`s over one million acres of sprawling wildlands begins at the Apgar Visitor Center, which is just a short trip up the iconic Going-to-the-Sun Road. You`ll also find nearby fishing on the Flathead River, a variety of water sports at Lake Five, and countless hiking trails in the Flathead National Forest. While you’re staying at the chalet, you can take a quick walk to the West Glacier Nordic ski track, with more than 5k of groomed ski trail for skate and classic skiers to enjoy while surrounded by views of Glacier National Park.
Recharge from all of your active pursuits in this home`s inviting interior. The carpeted floors and luxurious couches of the living area create a cozy ambiance that`s perfect for rest and relaxation in between visits to the national park.
Flip on this room`s wall-mounted flatscreen to settle in with a favorite cable show, or head just beyond the room`s sliding glass doors to take in the stunning views of Strawberry Mountain from the outdoor patio.
Feast your eyes on the alpenglow of a western sunset painted across the mountains at dusk, or head upstairs for more sweeping views from the wraparound deck. The deck is also a favorite for all fresco dining, particularly for enjoying barbecues using the gas grill.
But, if you want to cook indoors, the chef in your group will certainly appreciate the kitchen`s stainless steel appliances, assorted cookware, and spacious granite countertops for quick and easy meal prep. Eat with your group at the six-seat table in the adjacent dining nook, with easy cleanup afterward, thanks to the dishwasher. And you won`t even have to miss the end of that football game thanks to the nearby wall-mounted flatscreen.
Later, explore any of the home`s surrounding 10 acres of private property, or walk across the street to book a whitewater rafting trip, a guided hike, or a horseback ride with Glacier Wilderness Guides. You could also catch up on some laundry with the washer/dryer, or connect to the WiFi for further adventure planning.
When your satisfying day comes to an end, retreat to any of three bedrooms for high-quality sleep. Up to six guests are accommodated on cushy beds in two rooms and a full bed in the third bedroom. Each bedroom is modestly furnished, allowing you to focus on getting a great night`s sleep, night after night. Note there are no mountain views from the bedrooms and just one bathroom upstairs. There is a utility sink and mirror in laundry room downstairs.
Start your new day with an invigorating soak in the full bathroom`s stone walk-in shower on the upstairs/main floor, then wake up with a fresh-brewed cup of coffee from the kitchen`s coffeemaker. Plan for another day of exciting outdoor activities, which might include a helicopter tour of the park or a guided fishing trip on the Flathead.
There is also golfing two-and-a-half miles north at Glacier View Golf Course, a natural history museum at the Crown of the Continent Discovery Center (under a half-mile north), and quaint country restaurants and western boutiques in Coram (about five miles south). For skiing and snowboarding, head 23 miles southwest to Whitefish Mountain Ski Resort.
Visit the best of Glacier National Park from this lovely Montana vacation condo. Your adventures begin when you book it today! 1) Respect quiet hours between 9 pm and 8 am. 2) Please treat this like your home and keep floors, windows and counters clean throughout your stay. 3) No parties or events 4) Put nothing other than toilet paper in toilets...we have a very sensitive system that will backup if clogged. 5) No beer pong 6) No incense or candles please and thank you. 7) Parties or any event allowing more persons than those renting the house allowed only with written approval from homeowner and may come at an additional expense. Great location and very nice deck area. The bedrooms are tiny and lack several night tables, etc.. The den is downstairs, but no bathroom. That said, we enjoyed our stay.
This Chalet is so close to the West Glacier entrance…Just minutes away from Going to the Sun Road! We enjoyed using the grill and the beautiful view from the deck as we ate dinner. Comfortable and cozy place! Perfect place to stay on our first trip to Glacier National Park!
Great area! Wonderful view! Property was very well maintained and cleaned and supplied. Communication and instructions were great
they even gave you numbers and suggestions for things in the area that were appreciated.
Definitely a five star!!!!
Excellent location for Glacier National Park and surrounding area
Views are amazing.
The outfitters across the road were amazing and convenient.
This was a bucket list trip for us and this chalet was perfect.
The hosts recommendations were awesome for someone that had never been to the area.
While in the park we saw Grizzly Bear with 3 cubs at St Mary.
Black bear and 2 cubs at St. Mary.
Black bear on Road to the Sun on e-bikes.
Mountain goats at Goat Lick.
Plus the views.
AMAZING!!!!!
The space was perfect for our family of two kids, their parents and another adult. Plenty of room but no wasted space. Minutes from the West entrance to Glacier. Directions were very clear.
What a great property! Great location just a few minutes from Glacier. Very roomy and had everything we needed. Added bonus was the crock pot. Could set it up in the morning, head to the park and have a hot meal when we got back. Lindsey responded back fast and was super helpful. What a great stay we had. Didn’t want to leave. Definitely would rent again!!

Overall, this was a nice place to stay. Lindsay was very informative and her communication was prompt. The kitchen had many of the essentials and made it easy to prepare meals. Location is great and the area was relaxing and quiet. The upstairs bed needs replacing. Every time you moved on the bed it made a noise which affected your sleep.

This was a great stay for our trip to Glacier National Park. It was very close and it was a cute house. It worked well for 5 adults and a baby. It had AC and a good shower that didn't run out of hot water.
Only complaint would be that the couch downstairs was broken/worn out. If you went to sit on it you kind of fell into the couch. This wasn't a huge deal for us since we were out and about most of the time.
It is also good to know that restaurants close by 8pm in the area, so bring food or plan on being back early enough to eat.

Poor experience with floor plan, host, and age of bedding & furniture
This was a disappointing 4 night stay for several reasons. While the view from the kitchen/eating area is nice (as featured in the listing) the living room in basically in a walkout basement. We notified the host three times that the large blinds covering the sliding glass doors were broken and three times she promised to fix them. We were blown off 3 times, thus had virtually no view from the living room. This lack of followthrough is unacceptable. 2 of the 3 bedrooms are also in the basement with typical basement window well views. Bedding throughout is old and dirty, especially the pillows. The living room furniture needs immediate replacement as the springs are shot on all three pieces. We do not recommend this property based on our experience.
We loved this house, which was a perfect base for our family of four to explore Glacier National Park. The house was spacious, and the deck was lovely in the evenings!
We absolutely loved staying in this Chalet for our trip to Glacier and Waterton National Parks. House was just as expected, close proximity to the Park and had many activities near by.
We had a wonderful stay! Very clean. Felt so comfortable there. Super close to the west entrance of GNP! Beautiful views of the mountains from the balcony.
We stayed just one night but appreciated the proximity to Glacier and beautiful views from the deck. House was very clean and the directions and checkin were perfect. We were not able to sleep well on the upstairs bed because it was very noisy every time we moved, but other than that, we enjoyed it very much.
As described. Great location for visiting GNP. Quiet location just minutes from west side entrance. Rooms were small but worked for our stay. Downstairs area was nice for end of day to relax. Kitchen is spacious. Views were spectacular of the mountains.
